Not sure whether to be pissed that we let another winnable game slip through our fingers or be encouraged at the progress that has been made.

Your post shows our progress. Before this year, the conflict was whether or not I should waste 3-4 hours of a nice Saturday watching the Buffs.

Pissed.

It's not ok to miss 3 field goals. It's not ok to let 7 guys miss a tackle. It's not ok to allow multiple 3rd and 13/20/17 situations go for touchdowns. It's not ok not to kick after being stuffed on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd & goal (especially after not converting on that situation all year).

I'm pissed because we weren't outplayed. We were out-willed.

What's up Buffs? Tough loss but a great showing by your team.
You guys played very well and were a mirror image of ourselves.
As you know, it could have gone either way. Solid play for an away
game for sure. Being conflicted (and pissed) is way better than apathy though
- trust me on that. Good luck against Beavis. We'll all be watching
that game with great interest and rooting for CU.

Personally, losing to the Corn in OT at Folsom is the most gut wrenching loss I've seen. This one was really tough, though. Cal responded well enough from their heartbreak last week, I wonder how we will do.

Second what flukes said. I think you guys come back strong next week at home and kick OSU. I actually know a couple of your players and saw them after the game - they were upset, but seem determined. Glad to say I will be in Boulder for the UCLA game, wish it were the one next week. Good luck!

Good to hear. I loved Sefo at the post game interview. It seemed he was really pissed, but focused and determined. I hope anger is really brewing in these kids and they just unload on the Beaves. This game is very winnable IMO...I am actually expecting a win.

Devastating loss, but one hell of a gut wrenching effort. We are close to breaking this thing upward. Young teams learn tons from a game like that.

Woke up excited about OSU game. I believe that we will win!

Say Are the post game interviews available? Link? Thanks

Yeah, pissed because they thought they should have won. I think they're right. I suspect they come back strong next week, i think you guys are on the right track and I really like your coach. A lot of Cal fans still think he would have been our best hire, but at least we look like we have life again and Dykes looking and sounding much better this year.

well, if a win is a win (UMass) a loss is a loss. This game was to see who stayed out of the P12 cellar. Cal won. I have been a fan since 1988 and I have been waiting for a team that was good, watching, buying tickets and gear since 2006, and have been disappointed every year. It's wearing on me and I don't really care that they did better. Time to win came and went a long time ago for me.

This is a strange feeling, given our recent history. The staff has done what they have talked about.

Last year they focused on making football fun, and functioning like a competent football team. Players had coaching and direction, and teams had to wait until the 4th quarter before putting in the backups (in 2012 they were in by halftime).

Now these guys are learning how to compete. There isn't much player experience at the college level with this. They have really developed over the last four weeks (I did notice Sefo's comment in the presser in regards to not competing in 2nd half of CSU).

As we continue to compete the coaches have one more developmental step, how to finish. I would love for this to show up this year.

I'm really just pissed. We were up by 14 at halftime, should've been more, and we blew it. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

We, the fans that closely follow the program, can see progress is being made, but we need some more wins this season to keep this thing rolling. Cal was an excellent chance to get one.

Flukes is right, pissed means that you both cared and believed it could happen.

This is a major step forward. Lost my appetite last night after the OT but at least we looked like a PAC12 football team, not a bad joke from the Sun Belt like a couple years ago.

Sad that we had to make major progress just to be bad but at least we are moving the right direction.

The losses against CSU and Cal very likely took the Buffs out of bowl contention.

2-3 (0-2) is nothing to celebrate. While not mathematically eliminated from post season play, the odds of winning 4 of the remaining 7 are incredibly long. To go bowling this holiday season would be miraculous.

It painful to be still in September and staring down year seven without a bowl invitation and year nine without a winning record.

It is painful to recognize the psyche of Buff Galaxy hinges on finding comfort in progress. There are predictable and depressing observations how fans don't realize how big of a hole CU is really in. There are facts that come off as excuses regarding how young this Buffs team really is. There is modest, and embarrassingly honest pride from some fans in "looking like a D1 team" and "finally belonging in the Pac 12."

This pain and anger surfaced yesterday because that was a damn fun football game. It has been years since I've been thoroughly entertained by a gutsy highly competitive game where history is being made. Every snap mattered. The outcome of the game was determined based upon the result of every drive. This game was a mix of athleticism and heart, with the outcome determined by the last team left holding the ball. As Buffs fans, we've been running on fumes of the glory years and lip-service from CU that rang hollow with regards to some meaningful commitment to compete for a conference championship. It was fantastic to be surrounded by Buff fans at the watch party, singing the fight song, buying each other rounds of shots, and actually having real, bona fide, honest to God fun.

I was reminded why I am a fan of college football. There is magic when two well matched teams lead by young men in the prime of their lives put it all on the line for the sake of pride and in the pursuit of glory. The performance by Sefo, Nelson, Frazier, Tedric, Darraugh, and a few others were gutsy and appealing and worthy of mad respect. (Too bad it was against the dregs of the P12, but still....)

Even if we don't make a bowl game, I hope that we continue to be captivated by the here and now, and begin a new era when spectating Colorado football continues to be as exciting and entertaining as what we witnessed last night.

In the not so distant future, it would be great to see that kind of shoot-out against a ranked team, and then go on to a Rose Bowl tilt that matters.

The ****show that has been the modern CU football era can't end soon enough. I wanna have fun again watching Colorado football.

There is no way in hell you kick that close to the goal line, don't care if is the 1st quarter or the 5th overtime, you try to score.

I think going for 2 at the end of regulation or the first OT was the right move. Hell, we're probably better at 4th and goal from the 3 than we are at 4th and 1.

The team has had its ups and downs. We are young and don't have the raw talent to win right now. It was just last week we went scoreless against Hawaii in the second half.

We could win next week or lose. Our D may show up or they may roll over, same as our offense. But at least it's fun to watch games nowadays.

When we scored at the end of regulation they were reeling, I think our chance of spreading them out and Sefo finding somebody in the endzone for the 2 points would have been much higher than our chances in OT giving them a chance to regroup and get their heads back into the game.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I thought the play was to go for it right there. Also would have been a message to the offense that M2 believes in them in the clutch.

This.

Colorado had Cal on the ropes with that turnover at the end of the first half with the opportunity to go up by 21 on their swiss cheese defense and complete control.

Result?
No points. And allow Cal to score easily on first possession of second half. Ball game. All I'm seeing is Colorado finding ways to lose. Cal and CSU are hardly "progress" opponents. We beat both last year. By that measurement we are going backwards.

So pissed.

I feel great about the progress we are seeing. When is the last time we really showed some fight in the road??? But I also see your point.

Rather than have to choose, How about being both? I'd like our Buffs to be oissed they lost and translate that into even more progress and positive change.

So we showed fight on the road against a team that we blew out and was 1-11 last year. Woopty doo! Yay! What a kick ass loss!

Captivated.
Entertained,
Excited.

I love seeing those words associated with CU football once again!

Yesterday was the first time I've had fun watching an away CU football game on TV in a LONG time. Let's all hang on for the ride and enjoy seeing how this plays out.

A team that is 2 seconds away from being undefeated. Just because we beat them AT HOME last year doesn't mean they aren't much improved this year. That was the closest we have come to looking like a Pac-12 team since we got here. I understand we lost, I am mad about it, but I am mad for much different reasons then you apparently. And it feels good to be upset this time.
