Larry Zimmer Hospitalized

Get well, Zim! Zim is a throwback to the Bob Martin/Dick Connor days. Those were great times.

Karma to Zim!

It will be a very sad day when he's no longer in the press box at Folsom. In my mind he is the football radio announcer; everyone else is just a poor imitation.

On the other hand, the year after he retired from calling the Broncos, they won the Super Bowl.

Let's go, Zim! The second I hear that voice I know I'm listening to a call for my favorite team in all of sports. Wishing that man all the strength to get right and get back in the booth.

Very few of you guys are old enough to remember but at one time the Buffs (and Broncos) radio broadcast team was Zim and Bob Martin. That was as good a combination as any I have ever heard doing any football game on the radio in my lifetime.

Agree, Bob Martin was the best play-by-play there ever was.

Is there anything online where we could hear them? That would be cool to listen to.

Martin did the famous call in the '77 AFC Championship game, "The miracle has happened, the Broncos are going to the Super Bowl!!".
I also recall when Zimmer was doing both the Buffs and the Broncos which was often a challenge when one or both were on the road. CU didn't have many night games back then but when they did play at night and if they or the Broncos were on the road then Logan would fill in for him on the Bronco game the next day.

Sucks when old people fall. I ripped the **** out of my arm at the dog park in Evergreen. I tripped over damned rock and, "TIMBER." Landed on some rocks. Bled like crazy.

Did you park your dog before the fall? Is he now planning to put you down?
