Wanted to get some thoughts up. Let me start by saying you gotta be proud of the effort today-Buff Nation questioned the manhood of this group for the last week, and you gotta be pleased to see this group do what they did today. Let me make a quick comment about UCLA-UCLA is on par talent-wise with the top four teams in this conference, but the coaching is so bad that they are 6-2 because of Jim Mora and his staff.

Playing with a team like them, as badly coached as they might be, shows me this: The "nice try" line of thinking doesn't hold water anymore. We're a much better football team than we were this time last year, but there comes a time when we are going to need to step up and beat somebody.

The killer today was coming out so flat. Hangover from last week's game? I don't know. But we looked like we were playing 10 vs 11 in the 1st quarter. Buffs owned that game after that until the final OT when Hundley just decided he was going to hold onto the ball and end the thing.

With so many players on the team from Southern California, I wonder if the team has some degree of performance anxiety when playing UCLA and USC.

It just seams that there is more emotional baggage, where there are peaks and valleys when playing those two schools.

Could be.

We need to beat them once or twice and then that potential problem goes away, along with a bunch of others.

At least this year our guys come out of the game believing that they can play with UCLA.

1. Tupou finally showed something
2. Hundley had all day to throw. For a UCLA line that struggled all season, we certainly couldn't muster any pass rush
3. Spruce and Fields have dropped off as the season's progressed.
4. OL is pretty good. Credit to Bernardi. Solid pass protection and running game. Nembot has turned the corner. Officially. Kough looked good. Size upgrade for future seasons as well
5. Also why was our passing game reverses and RB screens? No confidence in Sefo? (perhaps rightfully so)
6. D showed some fire at the end. Our old D would have not stopped Vanderdoes on that 4th and 1. Still pretty crappy D overall however
7. Crowd was great towards the end. Student section moving to the North end was fun.
8. My heart hasn't beat like that at a CU game in a long time :(. Disappointing loss.

Edit:

9. Buff Woman is a total babe (new girl, not Buff girl). Wood

I was glad to see the stadium was more than half-full, too. Despite the repeated refusal to start playing until the 2nd Quarter, it was good to see the team fight back. That took a lot.

This, combined with the Utah squeaker over Southern Cal, makes the Utah game look even more interesting. Folsom should be jammed with at least 30k again this weekend against a pathetic Washington team. Colorado hasn't seen a worse UW team, perhaps ever, so here's another sure-fire victory.

^^This^^ If this team decided to come out fired up and not fall behind early all the time, we could be 6-2. I have a feeling they come out "calm" and "focused" but lacking passion. Once they are fired up and playing with emotion, we are a good team. We can say dumb mistakes, bad reefing etc are the cause, but that happens to all teams. IMO...the slow starts are what's really killing us.
