Pac-12 Conference: CEOs expected to approve major reforms Monday

I can't believe the PAC 12 is going to pay University of Texas athletes a stipend!

While the stipends range from $2,000 to $5,000 per year, each school will ultimately determine the amount based, in part, on the cost of living. Expenses aren’t the same in Pullman as they are in Westwood, for example.

This is worrisome, how does Wazzu recruit against UCLA if they pay $3000 less? Of course, if this policy is in place and fairly administered for each P5 conference, the Pac will make out like bandits--compare the cost of living in Lincoln to Berkeley.

They emphasize their low cost of living?

Stipends should come directly from the PAC, and be re-evaluated/adjusted each season. Just reduce some of the opportunity for this to be used as a recruiting tool or abused by schools/boosters.
