CU in Southern California March 23 - Rancho Mirage

Following is a link to an alumni dinner this Sunday at Rancho Mirage that will feature President Brown and Coach Hawkins. I attended a similar event two weeks ago in Phoenix, and strongly recommend it. Ones comfort level is buoyed by having an opportunity to talk with Coach Hawk. This will probably another tough season, but Coach Hawkins is one high intensity, no bull**** old school football coach who will field competitive blue collar physical teams in another two years.

Damn. I would love to go but they are having it out in Palm Springs on a Sunday night? WTF ?

That is going to make it very tough for SD,LA and OC people to make it to this function.

Chip. The high desert is beautiful now with the cactus and desert flowers blooming, go for it.

Seriously, it is a long haul, and would be better situated in OC, but the Phoenix dinner ended at 8:30 PM following a state of the Buffs chat by Coach Hawkins and q&a. The host probably lives out there, and one finds the very affluent alums, which I assume to be their target demographic.

CU in Tempe!

Yeah, they are going out there for the $$$$$. I have no problem with that.:smile2:

Hey, I am going to book my hotel/spa for the ASU game. Do you have any recommendations ? I want to get the planning started so we can find some deals.

Kierland in scottsdale is a very nice hotel/spa and it is on a pretty nice golf course. it is in north scottsdale though so it is a ways from sundevil stadium...

i would also recommend the 4 Seasons resort for class and quality, but that is even further north and it is going to be pretty pricey...

closer to tempe there is the Radisson Hotel, and the Doubletree Hotel that are both decent but not in the same league as the other two i listed...

I want something that will allow me and my family to walk to the game.

Family friendly, affordable, but not a dump, and withing walking (stumbling?) distance to the game. If we can't stumble to the game, I'll get FC or AZ to pick us up and drive us.

there is a holiday inn just off campus on rural road that i have stayed in before that is not too bad. it may fit your criteria.

planning on getting your kids all liquored up?:wink2:

If it's FC, you may want to throw in a little something of your own for the CD player...

I'll never let that happen again. If I'm ever in a car with FC again, I'm checking out the CDs in the machine before I close the door. Pure evil, that man is. Pure evil.
