Does this mean the Egg Bowl winner is in?
Not if it's Ole Miss because if they win that opens the door for Ohio State/Baylor/TCU. Even if MSU wins, is being a conference champion enough to vault an Ohio State or Baylor over them?
Agree. I don't think FSU making the playoff if they win out is a done deal-their reputation is a factor in where they are. Had Duke, Miami, or Georgia Tech been having the same season they've had, that team would be no higher than 6th.
You talking about FSU or MSU? Because if FSU wins out they will make the playoff.
buttSECs might be the dumbest phrase I have seen on this site, which is saying a lot.

Suck it, dply!buttSECs might be the dumbest phrase I have seen on this site, which is saying a lot.
I would drop MSU out, they already lost against another team in the top 4.

Heres the question for you Greg-who do you replace them with? I'm perfectly fine with them staying in it-given the way that game played out. You can find flaws in the cases for what looks like a consensus 5-6-7.........
In no particular order....
Ohio State-That loss to VA Tech is awful. Happened at home, and VA Tech might barely eek into a bowl game.
Baylor-They played NOBODY in September. The win over TCU looks better and better, but is it enough to counter the weakest OOC in Division One?
TCU-Credit to them for playing Minnesota OOC. That said, they do have that loss to Baylor. How does the committee handle head to head?
If MSU is sitting at 11-1 with a loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa, how do you take either Big 12 team or Ohio State over them? There's no harm in a road loss at Alabama......Sure, they don't have a conference championship, but how big is that, really?

Mariota is going to rush for 100 at roughly 10 ypc, pass for 250 in less than 20 attempts, and they will pile up over 300 yards on the ground. Our safety situations is beyond dire. Peyton manning couldn't win this game with our defense. Our best hope is that Sefo (or Gehrke) catch fire and keep it close. The offense will have zero room for mistakes. We are going to beat Oregon.

I don't care if 2 of the teams have played already or not. I want to see the best 4 teams in the country with no regard for conference tie-ins. There are circumstances where the best team in a conference at the end of the year didn't play in the CCG, or the second, third or fourth best team in the country is in the same division as the #1. that team should be in the playoff. What I don't want is any tie to either poll or the ESPN power ranking. I don't like the committee and would prefer if the participants were chosen strictly from computer rankings that don't take polls or power rankings under consideration.
