This Colorado at Oregon football game doesn't go away, even if you want to ignore it. The #2 Ducks are 32 point favorites and playing for national title aspirations. This is a prime opportunity to inflate the stats of Heisman candidate Marcus Mariota. The hapless Buffs are banged up and winless in conference games, and are playing for pride. Turnover prone QB Sefo Liufau will be sharing time with backup QB Jordan Gehrke. A CU win would be as miraculous as unlikely. In other words, we have 'em right where we want 'em.

With the undefeated CU basketball team playing at Wyoming with a 4PM tipoff (ESPN3), loyal Buff football fans are provided with a semi-legitimate out should this football game get out of hand early.

I just want to say that when the buffs pull off this rather unexpected win, it will be an upset that will echo throughout college football.

The Pac12 would lose a lot of credibility I am afraid. Would be ok with that in the short run. Haven't heard an echo caused by CU since 2001, I think it'd be appropriate.

I am not so sure about Oregon keeping in Mariota just to inflate his stats. He will get pulled long before most teams would pull their Heisman candidate from a game because Oregon wont risk an injury. My guess is if Oregon can get up by say 30 at halftime you wont see Mariota again except for maybe a series or two in the second half. Not so sure that will happen as I still have little faith in the Oregon defense, but who knows.

Hapless? Turnover prone? Really trying to get us fired up aren't you.

I like the last pic though.

Break out the lube, boys, the MacIntyre moral victory tour of 2014 is gonna win today. We will 'outplay' them for at least two quarters and the loss margin will be improved. Thrilling.

What an edgy post

I am sure if we'd fired coaches after week 1 like some people called for we'd be in a much better position to win...

I like seeing the team be in games, better than watching the beat downs of 2010-2012 and the hapless coaching before that. It needs to translate to wins, but don't think anyone should expect that this week.

Oregon will put up a lot of points to show the discrepancy. Keep it semi close and the committee will lose a bit of faith. We got boat raced, but not until the third. Then people come out and say they are proud of how we fought and kept it close for 2 quarters.

The Buffs just kicked Oregon's ass and repeat as national champions.

Does the Pac-12 network automatically switch over to the CU game at 2:30? ASU/Wazzu has 10 mins left in the 4th

Hope so. I want to see the first few minutes of the game, might be the only time we aren't trailing.

looks like they will be moving the ASU/WSU game to the internet since it's effectively over.
