So, the Buffs try to get a win in their last regular season match, on the road, against a HOT #23 ranked Utah team today at noon. (Utes have 6 wins in their last 7, including 5 wins against ranked teams, most recently 3 days ago over #13 Oregon.)

A Buff's win will guarantee them no worse than a tie for 3rd in THE premier volleyball conference, so would be a great accomplishment.

Match is on the Pac 12 network. As always, for those who can't watch on TV but have access and login to stream it through the Pac 12 website, link is here- http://pac-12.com/network/pac-12-network?DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=600 (Login required).

Live stats will be available through http://www.utahutes.com/gametracker...ol=utah&sport=wvolley&camefrom=&startschool=& .

A link to audio is also shown on the cubuffs.com main page, but the match isn't showing when you click on the link right now. IF their is audio, assume it will be available through http://www.cubuffs.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?type=live&db_oem_id=600 .

Just to be clear... HOT or HAWT. Trying to figure out whether to watch.

Well- Brooklyn Decker and Kate Upton had some eligibility left, so decided to go to Utah for vball so .... (Of course kidding)

Announcers say that Gwen Herring (who I mentioned in another thread wasn't in uniform against OSU Wednesday) suffered her 2nd concussion of the year sometime before that match, and is still out. Hope she can recover and feel better soon.

Assume this is the main reason A. Austin has been playing 6 rotations the last couple matches.

14 all

Thinking about it, the loss of Ms. Herring for any amount of time could hurt the Buffs a lot in the tournament, as she's been the main defensive specialist since she came back from her 1st concussion. (Hopefully she'll be back soon, but I believe she missed a month or so (???) after her 1st concussion, so assume the Buffs can't count on her being able to play the rest of the year.) Be interesting to see if we see frosh S. Shadley or Middle K. English at all this match or at the NCAA's, as I believe they were used some as Defensive Specialists earlier in the year. There are also a couple dedicated defensive specialists on the roster, but I believe they also had injury issues earlier in the year, and haven't gotten much playing time since they've been back.

Looks like Buffs are just going to need to pick up their play the rest of this set so they can compete well in set 4. Down 15-4, so took 2nd TO.

20-10 UU. Buff's giving T. Simpson a rare rest so she's ready for the 4th. S. Shadley in for her.

Buff's DO play a lot better late, which will hopefully help next set. "Only" losing set 3 24-19. TO UU.

Note- Hadn't seen S. Shadley take many front row hits this year (and I don't if she's had any in conference play?), but she has had a couple nice one's late in this set.

Wow- Set 4 starting, and T. Simpson not starting, and S. Shadley (currently in back row) still in for her. R. Hargis also starting in place of A. Pfefferle in the middle.

8-3 UU. TO CU.

I didn't think I'd ever see T. Simpson out of a lineup, and then A. Austin still playing in the back row. (Still no sign of T. Simpson- looks like Ortiz Ruiz has gone in for Shadley when her rotation hit the front row)

18-13 UU. TO CU. (CU was way back, then got within 2 or 3, but now have lost a few in a row.)

CU loses set 4 25-19 and 3-1 in sets.

Obviously still a very good regular season for the Buffs. We'll see Sunday who they'll be playing in the tournament, and where.

Anybody have a clue if Taylor was sick or injured or if Kritzka decided to sit her down for some reason?

I'm not at home so I can't post a thread in it yet, but the NCAA selection show is tonight at 8:30 et
