2015 -- NO EXCUSES

I don't care what injuries happen, what bad luck with the way the ball bounces, what questionable officiating, or how many underclassmen work their way into the 2-deep.

For the 2015 football season, there are no excuses.

This team needs to win.

A bowl game is the expectation.

That is all.

This. We have seven winnable games on the schedule. 4-0 non conference is a must.

Nik, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but this kinda sounds like Hawkins circa 2009.

This team is not gonna sniff 7 wins next year. And even when they don't, that should not put Mac on the "hot seat".

I agree, but Nik seriously if we don't make a bowl next season what are the consequences? Does Mac get fired? I don't see it happening unless we are 2014 bad, so if we miss out and a bowl is the expectation, what do you expect to happen?

Nope. Time to win. I don't want to hear anything about how this team isn't good enough to win. I also don't want to talk consequences or "hot seat" or any of that crap. That **** will work its way out based on what happens.

What I'm saying is that I expect to win next year and there are no excuses for not winning.

I can't disagree. I am just lacking the faith and hope it will happen. In the middle of June, I'll probably be thinking a bowl game is possible, but not now.

We won't win seven, but anything less than bowl contention in late November is a bad season.

We are returning enough experience to go 4-0 against that weak ass non-con slate. Need 3 more wins, and it's not going to be easy. But we need to f***cking take some of those games, not just lose them by 10 or fewer points. The playcalling needs to be hungrier. And the defense, for the love of god, needs to defend.

Tough forum talk won't get us to the bowl. However, the cupcake noncon schedule should be a big boost. Then see 3 of those close losses swing the other way -- It's possible but will require some luck of the good type falling the Buffs' way next year. Not betting, but hoping.

I agree. Time to win. Time to turn the corner.

Our our new facilities will be done just after next season. Great way to build and gain momentum. Bowl game. New facilities.

But do we need to get a new D coordinator for this coming season? Or do we just hope that the youth argument was correct??

I don't know what MacIntyre has to do. I'd probably shake up the staff a bit if it were me.

Purpose of this thread was mostly along the lines of getting this message board behind a pledge that we won't have the same attitude next year as we did this year. Close losses won't give glimmers of sunshine any more. From here on out, it's about winning. We need to have real expectations again.

Maybe. But my all in for total wins over 4.5 in 2014 cleaned me out.... No bet on over from Egg.

2015. Wins or bust. Tired off the mistakes! Bad preparation. See fake punt today. Tired of it.

I am on board with Nik. I have argued patience for this season but that is gone next season. Progress is winning and the time is 2015 to put up the wins. Period. Not talking 10 wins but there needs to be a bowl game next season. I believe they will get them but it is time to get some results. Believing can only be sustained thru winning and they now have to do it on the field.

You should put up the schedule.

It's ****ing brutal in conference. Brutal. All of the other ****ty/lesser teams we play on the road.

Yep. And I'm trying to avoid making this an excuse, but mere fact. Our "winnable" games are away and our "loss column" games are at home. It doesn't look good. We're going to win some conference games next year. I'm just not sure it's 3 or 4 with that schedule. And Hawaii may suck, but adding a must-win at Hawaii on top of an already daunting route to bowl eligibility is just one more obstacle. 5 wins seems likely. 7 wins would take one of those years of exceeding expectations and getting breaks that we never experience.

The Buffs have sown in sorrow long enough. It is time to reap in joy. These young guys that cut their teeth on close losses need to flip the script and turn them into wins. I agree that it needs to happen next season.

I agree. 7-6 looks pretty tough right now, all alcohol aside. Our 4 conference games at home are Oregon, USC, Stanford and Arizona. Those four will be the four favorites to win it all and all potentially top 15 teams - preseason.

We need more progress and my expectation is that we are in the hunt. We no longer be viewed as a patsy. We are getting damned close to that.

Bowl is the goal. Anything less is bull****. Our schedule is gonna be tough every year, umm we are in the Pac 12, don't get used to it embrace it. I want it to be difficult, the players damn well should, makes it worthwhile.

Hard to see more than 5-6 wins with that schedule. I think we're on the Duke rebuild plan, gonna be a couple more years if ever.
