"All I did was take the cash"

What I can't figure out is why he thinks that he didn't do anything wrong. Then he throws the rest of his team under the bus saying "They're failing drug tests and getting in trouble but they don't get kicked off the team, why me?"

 and hell is just a sauna, jd. hell is just a sauna.

to grudgingly give the whiner some slack, he did not exactly throw his team under the bus. he said that he was not referencing oklahoma, but "things" he heard from all over the country.

I kind of read that as back pedaling.

i suppose better to backpedal than to be slammed for libel.

he knows better than to suggest that there are a bunch of failed drug tests and lawbreaking going on in norman.

the most absurd drama in town in recent years, other than his own bull****, was when they kept injuring their qb in pickup truck mishaps.

I think he said something out of sour grapes then thought better than to make empty accusations or ones he has no way of proving. Whatever the case, the IQ of Norman went up in an equal proportion to the new drain in Montana.

for one you have to look at the source, the Tulsa World, this paper is so anti-OU that they bury sports stories about OU unless it is negative press, then its front page, much like the Dallas Morning News here is locally.

Funny it took him a year to say this when he was kicked off the team last summer and then after he enrolled at Div 1AA Montana thinking he could play football did the NCAA so no football for a year. Why didnt he say this last year when all of this came to light.

Also I thought he was the bright one of the two, but seeing that Bomar refused to comment, heck he must be learning something at SHSU.....

Oh but AD was allowed to drive a Lexus around Norman for right at around 4 months without paying one cent, as long as he was attempting to figure out the best possible finance situation!

I would be willing to bet he never paid for one drop of gas during that 4 months as well. Oh and by the way....AD also worked at BRSI!!!

Having recently purchased a Lexus, I can tell you that they gave me exactly ONE WEEK to line up any financing that I needed to.

Gee ... we here at CU wouldn't know anything at all about that kind of thing.

he knew that taking money was against the rules too. he needs to just shut his mouth but i don't think this kid is smart enough for that.

when Rhett Bomar is making you look like "the dumb one"....i think it's time to reconsider one's position.

The old saying is true: "Tis better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

So, it seems a "school administrator" "guided" them to the car dealership gig. That is what was just said on a story about it on ESPN. OU will be meeting with the NCAA shortly to "explain" why the self-imposed sanctions should be enough punishment. A decision will be coming in early summer. Stay tuned. Hey Landry, are you following any of this? :wink2:

4 months  love the way fuskers know how the calendar works.... it was 18 days to be exact.....

Oklahoma RB and Heisman hopeful Adrian Peterson has been cleared by OU following his purchase and subsequent return of a used Lexus. Peterson made an agreement to purchase the car, drove the car for several weeks, and then returned it to the dealer.

Now Peterson "attempted" to buy the car in November, yet was seen driving it during Spring practices. Did he have the car from Spring until November, or from November until the following Spring???

Hmmm that's a long 18 days!!! Well they are from OU. They can't count past twenty....So they chose a number (18) that they could still count using all fingers and 8 toes!

several weeks is what you link says.... november to april is 6 months or 1/2 a year..... so whats is going to be?? several week or several months... you seem to be posting links that go againt what you say.....

ya we lost count after the 20th point scored last December.... what was that final score again.... oh ya 21-7 and hillbilly throatslash outcoached once again.....

Well one thing is for sure, your "exact fact" of it being for just 18 days was shot out of the water. If I had to bet, I would say that he had it from November of '05 until Spring of '06, and then got rid of it when the heat was on. So say right at about 4 months.

Oh, and by watching that Spring game today, it looks like the Sooners may be Laters with your QB situation!

nope it was just 18 days.... i dont care what "blog" you care to quote....

and as far as the qb situation, we beat ****braska last year with a wide receiver playing qb that drove the ball 99 yards up you ass completing 8 of 9 passes at one point..... so they will do just fine with either of the 3....

btw when is the fuskers spring game on national tv?????

Don't need our Spring game to be televised. When the 70+ recruits see that there are 70,000+ fans at Memorial Stadium for a Spring game, that will more than enough staying power for the upcoming recruiting season. I will say that Murray will be a very special player for the Sooners.

a fan representing a school which had widespread scholarship buyback programs across multiple sports which landed them on the NCAA **** list in recent history really does not have room to stand and throw rocks, now do they?

seems to me that eric the whiner was busted for not paying for a ham sammich once too. dittums, this is also against ncaa rules.

did those facts cross your mind, or are you only interested in pointing fingers at others? you know what they say? when you point your finger at someone else, how many of your fingers are pointed right back at you?

1. landry has made his decision. he is a childhood sooner fan. i think it best to leave him out of this.
2. i would be very hesitant to take anything the media says at face value. keep in mind that sensationalist spins sells stories (say that five times fast) . i would have thought a buff fan would know better than to do this. at this point, it seems clear that there is a sour grapes deadbeat roomate who could not pay his rent nor muster the ability to earn a walk-on spot who is doing all the griping. his story is not substantiated by anybody else, and therefore it is possible that he may not be telling the truth. you were not altogether clear as to who exactly claims that an admin/car dealerhip connection exists, but before it is gossiped about, perhaps it shoud be ESTABLISHED rather than just SUGGESTED. see any parallel to what happened in boulder? perhaps that possibility should stay wagging tongues until FACTS are known, rather than innuendo or rumor.

i also was just watching espn. the people who covered it mentioned the future date with the NCAA and commented that they found it incredulous to suppose that anything else by the university could have been done.

right now, my summation on the matter is this: opinions are like assholes. everybody's got one.

Can we get back to the Sooner and Corn fans duking it out on the Buff board?

I was kidding about Landry. And it doesn't matter what I think. This'll all be hashed out by the Evil Empire (NCAA). I don't want to see OU get nailed too hard. Just a nice kick in the ass will make me happy. The schools I really would like to see get nailed are out on the two coasts.
