Game Worn Jerseys

Hey everyone, I got some early pricing on stuff and it looks like their are going to be some real bargains available for this sale. I hope that everyone can pick up some stuff and support the AD.

GO Buffs!!!!

Any ideas on what is going to be sold and the prices for it?

Jerseys, and apparel are what I was told. No helmets, I asked about that. And I think apparel is going to include old coaches/sideline gear. Polos, long sleeves, etc. I was looking for a specific jersey, emailed Plati, and he said it'd be less than $50. Damn good deal is you ask me.

Definately a good deal and thanks for the help.

I wonder what falls into the "etc." category? Maybe one of Slick's sweater vests could be had at the right price.

wow, that's cool. I wish they did that here at Nebraska. Take advantage of that, the authentic jerseys are quite pricey otherwise. I was pricing authentic (non game worn) jerseys for us and they were $200.

I'm heading up to Boulder shortly for this. I'm sort of worried about it. This is the sort of thing that could cause me to spend a lot of foolish money.

If you notice a guy wearing different random jerseys to every game next fall, that might be me.

Phoenix Buff is one fellow who has quite a few authentic jerseys. I haven't seen him around for quite a while. I have a black 30 and a white 88 from 1971. Just to let him know I still can't part with these for any price. I also have a jockstrap with "Bluebonnet Bowl 1971" printed across the front of the waist strap. Worn once, washed once. I still can't sell it.:smile2:
[And there will be no mention of pouch size. FlaBuff won't mention that about the Orange Bowl jockstraps he says he still has either. ]

You guys should get the jerseys from the sale while you can.

That sale was a cluster****, but there were some great deals. The good football jerseys were flying off the rack. Some kid was checking out with a Vickers and a McChesney jersey when I got there (and I got there right at noon). It was too hard to get to the jerseys, but I got two game worn basketball jerseys (A Chris Copeland home jersey for me and a Billy Law jersey for a friend - $20 each.) I got two Nike mock turtlenecks with the CU logo or "CU Football" on them and a huge grey CU Football sweatshirt for 10 bucks each, and a Nike dri-fit CU football T-shirt for $5.

That place was a mad house. I don't think there will be much left at the end of today. I managed to get a McChesney, Dawn, and Manapuna Jersey for 30 bucks each. All of the good blacks ones are gone. The ones left are no names or lesser known players. There are a good amount of white ones left but some of them are a little off color, almost yellowish. Not all of them are like that but some are. Some jerseys have name on the back some don't.

The athletic dept needs to do this more often. I'm sure they made a good chuck of change off of this deal. They had a whole buck of other sports equipment as well. I got my sister a womens soccer jersey for only 20 bucks.

Eazy-E's twin! Loved that guy, jerry curl and all!

That's why I grabbed it. We still bring up Billy Law a couple times every basketball season. My friend, who is hopefully small enough to wear it, is going to crack up when he sees what I found.

Ha ha - I overheard you talking on the phone to someone. You had mentioned the McChesney and Dawn jerseys and were asking someone if they wanted you to grab one for them. If I had known that was Marching Buff, I would have said hello!

I didn't show up till 1 and was able to get a #19 (Rashaan!!!) jersey in white. It didn't have his name on the back obviously but I was still pumped! GO BUFFS!

Phoenix Buff,
Good to see you are still checking around. Yes, it is a long and tough road to getting better. The years '03, '04 and '05 brought us '06. I'm looking for a lot of improvement this year. The prospect of some good, hard-nosed football ahead keeps me going.

I knew you had quite a few jerseys, but didn't know the specifics. That is a pretty sharp collection.

I'm still plugging away as well. Family is fine. The best to you and yours.

Oh, and bids start at $1,000,000.00.:smile2:

Bids for any one of Phoenix Buff's collection start at $1,000,000.00.
Bids for the old timer black 30 (shown at left) or white 88 (no photo available) also start at $1,000,000.00. The white 88 was worn by an
All-American, the black 30 was worn by a scrub.:smile2:

This sounded like a great idea!!!! It would have been cool just to see all the people going crazy buying things!!!! Hopefully your AD made a good chunk of change and is able to invest it in all the programs.

Hey B30, great day for a spring game...and I cleaned up at the AD sale...I know people and scored a sweet sideline Parka which I played golf in on Friday afternoon...

Phoenix wishes he could afford my orange bowl jock straps...
