Who is going to the game?

I'm going. Probably can't get up there until right before game time though. :sad1:

I'm studying for a ****ing exam. I'm taking a break. I look forward to reports on the scrimmage.

Why are they only going 7 on 7 for most of this? Not enough OL, I suspect. That's too bad.

Nelson throws a pretty nice ball.

some quick and random observations from today;
  • nelson looks to me like the guy to beat for the starting job. he has a decent arm but needs to work on accuracy and release...
  • cody does a decent job of looking off of his primary, but he seems to telegraph some of his throws with a stutter step just before he releases the ball. it seems like he is targeted for the number two position...
  • bjax is looking like the utility guy, a slash kind of player. i hope he can work into the offense in that way because i think he can bring that added dimension...
  • the majority of the scrim was focused around the passing game, it was hard to get a handle on what we will see with the ground game this year. as wispy said, that could be due to the thin ol; hopefully the hosses that are coming in will be able to step up immediately and give us some depth...
  • patrick williams could be the go to guy for the big play this year, he was a big target out there today...
  • i am worried about the punting game, and marginally worried about the kicking game. of course that is based on what we have had in the recent past....
  • i will be pleased with 5 wins next year based on today's performance...i hope they prove me wrong and pick up 7, but that is going to be a stretch...
  • decent crowd today for the spring scrim...bigger than in past years, probably partially due to the fact that it was a gorgeous day here...
  • thanks again to the sacky family for hosting a pre-game tailgater...you guys rock!

beautiful day at Folsom. truly fantastic.

i also thought i saw about a 5 win team on the field today.

not crazy about the 7 on 7 format (alternation), but i understand why.

While far from perfect, Nelson and Cody both looked better to me now than White and Cox did in the Fall scrimmage at Folsom last year. now, they weren't going live the whole time, granted.

This report bums me out. I was hoping for better. I guess the one "X" factor in all of this is the incoming freshman class. I hope 4 or 5 of 'em can step in and step up. But pinning hopes on freshmen is not a good thing. :sad1:
