XJ Suspended vs UW

What's going on this season with the hijinks that are getting individual players getting suspended/losing starting privileges?

Worst thing is that for XJ he is a guy with NBA talent and an NBA body. He has a some things that he needs to improve on but it is within his reach. He isn't going to be a star but he is the kind of guy that could be a rotation guy playing a couple different positions. He could be a role player for a long time if he works things right.

Problem is being a disciplinary case multiple times could be enough to chase the league away. If you are going to be a head case you better be a star doing things that XJ doesn't.

****! Man ya try to find a path with these guys.... And..... This?

Just unending frustration.....

Geez. SQUELCHED........

I thought it was weird that he tweeted during the ASU game. I figured a friend was using his feed, but now I know why he was able to tweet.

Wheels are seemingly coming off. Tad is going to have to monitor this closely, you only have a few key guys in basketball. If things turn sour it will affect the entire team and completely derail things.

How many times has XJ been disciplined this year? 2-3? His approach to the game is going to have to change, if he is going to continue at Colorado.

I don't know if Tad will say it publicly (he might), but I have to assume that this is the most frustrating season of basketball he has ever experienced.

I have tried to bite my tongue on this since the beginning of the season, and mods please alter this or whatever if you feel the need. XJ needs to grow the **** up. For personal reason I will not explain, but I know exactly why he was late to shoot around for the NCAA tournament game against Pitt. I know exactly why he and Wes looked so tired and out of it during that game. I ran into him and Josh Scott at The Walrus immediately before they left for the Georgia game this year. I know that XJ and a few teammates throw parties on a semi regular basis. The suspensions only reaffirm that he either cannot responsibly handle being 21 or he doesn't care.

Before this team can go anywhere XJ needs to decide whether he wants to be a basketball player or a regular student. I get being in college. I get partying. I get bar hopping. I however did not have the responsibility or expectations of an athletic scholarship, my team, my fans, and my university on my shoulders. He needs to learn that during basketball season it is time to work, be successful at his job and there will be no shortage of attention around town. Tad needs to put his foot down. This stuff has to stop.

This. And you can guess why he was late for the UNC game. Here's my opinion. I think XJ and some other guys thought that things were going to be handed to them. They have been successful throughout their entire career so far and they thought it would be the same this year. The partying stuff like that is not new this year and XJ needs to know he is a student athlete. He can't be like me or the majority of CU and party every Thursday and Friday.

No need to edit this or moderate it. If anyone has a problem with it, there's an easy way for XJ and others on the team to turn this stuff around. It's life. If you perform at your job, no one really cares how you handle your personal life. But when you don't perform, you can't appear to have your personal life being the problem.

Good to know. Didn't want to encroach on any of the terms of use since this is the public forum. Extremely frustrated and disappointed with XJ. Agree with you on all points. Something Alec, Cory, Carlon, Dre, and Spencer all understood that. Ski understands that, but he is not an off the court leader. Pretty aloof from what I gather. From what I saw from Spencer at the tournaments, or rather didn't see, leads me to believe that those were business trips plain and simple.

He'll tee off at some point. It's Tad; when he feels the time is right, the safeties are coming off

One thing about Tad I absolutely love. He will call out a player, without calling them out in the media. Their name never gets printed or quoted but you can bet they know exactly who coach is talking about at all times. Love the honesty from the head coach. Think X may need more than that to get his attention though.

So, between the Thursday and Saturday games, while in AZ with his teammates and coaches, he needs to get high? XJ may have a problem.

Pump the brakes. Now we are getting into conjecture and something that could damage a young man's rep. Take it easy on the leaps in logic.

He just needs to tone it down, remember that he's not just accountable to himself. I'm not saying don't party, just handle it better.

You're right. i was responding to the posts saying he's been partying, which no one thought improper or disagreed with. But, what else could he do between post-game Arizona, to Friday, when they sent him home - get in a fight?

Get in a fight, get caught for being drunk in public, be late again to shoot around, not be in the hotel when he is supposed to be, missing rehab, etc. It could honestly be a whole number of things that would be a violation of team rules. Sure getting high is probably one of the things he could have done, but we probably will never know.

Easy enough to be disappointed and frustrated with him, without starting those kinds of rumors without any backing.

That is the point, we don't know. Best not to throw around such potentially damaging accusations with absolutely no evidence.
