Florida depressed me tonight. They're the CU of elites. Better talent and a coach on the current Mt. Rushmore, but a season that mimics CU's. Tonight they came in 3-1 in SEC play and still had hope of making something happen since they were playing on their home court where they almost never lose. LSU ****ing owned them.

During the broadcast, there was a segment filmed inside their locker room with an ESPN guy talking about how at some point it's got to come from a player. That the coach can only repeat things so many times before it turns into white noise and it takes a player to stand up and say that the effort and desire is unacceptable, that it will not stand.

Does Bo Ryan get enough credit for being among the best basketball coaches in the game?

only in Wisconsin. to be clear, that opinion stops at the state border and definitely does not extend into Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa or Illinois.

but what he's done is incredible. so easy to be a Wisconsin fan.

I think the points above are pretty spot on. Bo probably won't get the credit he fully deserves unless he can punch through and grab a national title here at some point in the next few years before he retires (like a Gary Williams), or at least add a couple more Final Fours. Breaking through and finally making the Final Four last season was a huge step -- before that there was the perception of Wisconsin not holding up so well in the NCAA Tournament. He's also had some damn good teams but if I recall, he hasn't been able to grab a conference regular season or tournament title for a pretty lengthy period of time, which also probably limits him from getting the respect to the degree he deserves

He is a great coach, but he's been incredibly lucky on the injury front. He lost his starting point guard for six weeks the other night, and the announcers said that will be the first missed game by a Wisconsin starter in five years. Compare that to CU in just the last two. Hell, just this year.

Eustacey is doing a hell of a job in fort Collins. They're about to beat San Diego St to go to 18-2

RE the Big 10, it's surprisingly weak this season.

the boys seem to be ready. you nervous? I expected the score to be about 44 - 12 at the half.

I had a feeling this would happen for two reasons:

1. UVA is going to get VT's best shot in Blacksburg always. And when you're ranked #2, that's magnified x100.
2. UVA's next game is against Duke. Maybe the biggest regular season game in school history, at least for the last 30 years. Hard not to start having minds wander.

I didn't realize you guys had Duke next. tough to focus on a winless conference team with the Blue Devils around the corner. Def the Hokies biggest game of the regular season. sounds like 'Hoos are well represented in the crowd.

Buzz is going to be a pain in UVA's ass for years to come, I'm afraid.

I figured VT had a good chance to play their asses off and hang around for a while, but now they've come out strong in this half. Hoos better wake up, although blowing this would be a VERY quintessential UVA thing to do.

Thought Duke might be in trouble today. That's a good Johnnies team. Maybe the best since they stopped calling themselves the Redmen. Lot of pressure on a young Duke team today that I think will go on to win a title.

@ ND and @ UVA up next

1000 wins is pretty damn impressive, Duke vs UVA should be awesome, ill be watching that.

1000 D1 wins is so ridiculous. You'd have to get one of those jobs at 30 years old & average 25 wins a season to get there by the time you turned 70. It's getting close to the upper limit of what's possible.

Awesome job by Brey and ND this year. ND hoops is a great gig in that you can achieve big things but there's not much pressure (A down year here and there is tolerated).
