Walters started recruiting Sims this spring and has been tracking him for a while. I found a blurb from back in April when Oklahoma State was showing interest and he brought up Colorado:

“I like everything about Oklahoma State, the campus is great, so are the facilities and coaching staff, I try to keep in touch with Coach Dunn,” Sims said. “Yes, you can say that I'm interested the Cowboys, and if they offered, I'd probably commit right there. It would be hard to say no to them.”

Whether that situation materializes remains to be seen. This much is certain: Oklahoma State is not the only team with a set of eyes on him. Colorado is another program in the mix, and not long ago, Buffs wide receivers coach Troy Walters took a trip to see Sims in action.

“Having a school like Colorado interested, it surprised me at first, that's the Pac-12 Conference,” Sims said. “After that, Coach Walters came to talk to me in person, then I knew things were starting to head in the right direction. I would like to visit to Colorado, see what its about.”

I just finished watching his highlights. Kid's got good wheels and very good body control. I like the way he gets off the line. Catches the ball away from his body. The run he makes at 3:50 is very pretty.

I can see why Walters likes him. Maybe sees some of himself in Sims.

I saw his film, this guys electric. Definitely will help in the return game. He has that extra gear in the open and I love how he cuts and gets downfield. Looks like another Shay Fields.

Will be interesting to hear how his OV went, just not sure he is a fit considering the WRs we signed in the 2014 class.

Ummmmmmm... This isn't the basketball recruiting forum. Maybe KU gave a full offer and we didn't. I don't know.

CU was full at WR; so he never received an offer from the Buffs and Kansas offered. It's his only D1 offer and he hasn't gotten any indication that he will be getting another one unless situations change. Good for him and good luck at Kansas.

The only way CU is full is if there's a commitment we don't know about. I'm excited.

Best of luck to Sims. Good situation for him at KU and I did like his film.

Or we feel we are "full" in terms of short slot receiver types.
