Log-on and let us know your thoughts on the news last week about the possible end of the series

I voted the first option. That's my strong preference. I simply don't think the positives outweigh the negatives of playing CSU every year.

I could bite the bullet on the 2nd option if that meant that we had a CSU game at Folsom in our odd years when we only have 4 Pac-12 home games.

What CU absolutely cannot live with is playing an annual neutral site game against the Rams.

It's the height of arrogance to say this with CU in its current state, but if CSU was a powerhouse or even regularly ranked, I'd be all for an annual game. However, I'm of the opinion that CSU will revert to what amounts to an average-at-best Mountain West team, and I don't want to be locked into playing a team like that every year. I'm not opposed to occasionally scheduling CSU, but with a limited number of ooc game slots available I don't want CSU in one of them each and every year.

I'd go for a home and home plus a game in Denver every 6 years

Rotating every two years between the different venues (Folsom, CSU and Mile High "Field")..... Would keep the series from getting stale the Denver game might fill up if we don't play there so often.

Other way I'd like to go is a home and home very 5 years. Keeps a rivalry going which could rotate with Air Force and Wyoming. The five year hiatus gives a good snapshot of each program's state of being, either you got it or you don't and got to wait till the next series in 5 years.

It's a good series, Ft Collins is a blast to visit for this, and Denver can be fun if not every year.

The bolded. I don't mind playing them every year, but get it out of Denver, and preferably a 2 or 1 deal. Doesn't matter if the game is in Denver and CSU wins every year, they'll still find a reason to bitch about CU along with the Denver media.

I'd keep it but home and home. I think it brings a spotlight to the programs. But I'd be okay if it just went away too.

I don't care either way. But don't you want one of your OOC games to be with an MWC, MAC, or AA type (non-P5) team? Well, CSU is one. And honestly, I'm not sure there'd be as much griping about the game if the Buffs were regularly kicking CSU's ass. Tell me that CU is going too make more money playing San Jose State, Connecticut, New Mexico, Bowling Green, or Akron in Boulder as they are playing CSU in Denver. Not sure that's the case, but I'm not an expert in the finances of the Sports Authority contract.

Great point. We need revenue, so that should help make the decision.

Do a 2-for-1 once or twice a decade and always guarantee 6 games at Folsom a year, including CSU when we are the home team. No other P5 team would play a G5 team in state with any regularity and not have leverage in these negotiations to stoop to an extended neutral site series or even a home and home. Mike Bohn got worked in this area. You do not see Arkansas State and the Razorbacks agreeing to a decade-long series extension to be played at War Memorial Stadium. There is no debating that we are the only P5 school in a state where this is allowed to happen.

We should keep it in some form. I'd favor a 2 for 1 or a break every couple of years.

On Friday I supported the series. Seeing the press bash CU for the fully subsidized program in Fort Collins has tuned me. I'm through with this game. Let them schedule whomever they want where ever they want. Ditto for us.

You guys calling for a 2-for-1 are living in a fantasy land.

CU just got blasted in the local media for having the nerve to say that it wants to play its home games at Folsom and didn't want to extend the CSU series in consideration of CSU refusing to consider that.

Yet some of you seem to think that 2 games at Folsom for every 1 game at either CSU or Mile High is somehow on the table. That is simply not an option.

So get that out of your heads and base your opinions on what is possible.

What's possible is that CU digs in and holds a firm line that it either gets a game at Folsom in all the odd years for scheduling or that the series goes away. We either support that stance or we don't. There is no third option beyond RG getting so fed up that he takes any further games off the table and refuses to negotiate beyond the current contract even if CSU caves on the remaining dates through 2020 as an offer in exchange for a series extension.

2 for 1. If they don't want to take it, fine. Walk away. Nothing less than 2 for 1.

Unless and until college football expands to a 14-game regular season, we can't be in the business of playing any single non conference opponent annually.

Kill the series. Negotiate for periodic games from time to time on campus.

It is a problem with how people understand college sports in this state. It isn't about hating CSU, like some media would like you to believe. It is simply a result of how the football leagues are structured. People around here don't understand that the MWC and Pac-12 are different levels, and that what we've been doing with CU for the past 15 years is HIGHLY unusual. It isn't about CU arrogance. It isn't about how bad CU has been or being scared of CSU. It is about the business logistics around all this. I wish our media around here was better informed of the inner-workings of college athletics.

No 2 for 1 then no series. And on campus only.

And as a part of the b10 and p12 scheduling deal, maybe I'd rotate in a game at invesco with a b10 school every 3-4 years or something. But it would have to be just an occasional thing and hopefully a game with ramifications amongst the p5 teams.

I don't see on-campus as really any better than Denver. 2 for 1 isn't happening and I see zero advantage in playing a road game against a middling MWC program every other year for eternity. We've only got 3 OOC games as it is, perhaps I'd feel differently if we had 4 but even then it's simply not a good scheduling philosophy. CSU is welcome to give us a call if they ever find their way to the big boy conference table. Otherwise, good riddance. I'd rather be getting 2 for 1's against opponents of CSU's stature from Texas and playing home and homes against Iowa, North Carolina, etc.

The media is so one side in this town that it is just better to end it and take the beating that will come for that move. If CSU decides they want to play us in the future, they will know if will cost them a 2 for1. Just end it now and get the media bs over with.

I could see a scenario from CUs perspective that we play at home on years of 4 P12 home games, then alternate between Denver and FoCo the alternate years.

CSU agreeing to this is a whole different conversation.

After the series has been cancelled for a few years, CSU backers will clamor for a 2 for 1.

Why would we even want a 2 for 1? We want out of this game. CSU should want out of this game. There is no benefit to CU. The only benefit to CSU is $$. Beyond that their entire identity as a team is tied CU. Their on the right path to try and get a P5 invite, they should be trying to redefine the program and develop their own identity. If they keep investing in the program, more $$ will come down the road.

Cancel the series for a significant length of time (maybe 10 years or so) and then have a 1 for 1. Then don't play again for another 10 years. Would make this game so much more interesting.
