Rivals-Under Armour Camp Series & Nike Combines 2015

Today is the Rivals/UA QB Camp in Los Angeles.

Sunday is a full Rivals/UA camp in Las Vegas.

Lots of offers shake out from these camps.

Nike Honolulu happened a couple weeks ago and we've seen a number of early CU offers in Hawai'i. Los Angeles is happening tomorrow, so the 22nd is a huge camp day in the west between Vegas and LA attendees. I'd assume CU coaches jumped on flights after practice today.

Here are the Nike Camps/Combines:

I just asked Adam about these camps and I was completely wrong about coaches being able to use these as scouting opportunities. NCAA changed the rules several years ago and coaches can't attend. Makes me wonder about the value of paying to attend one of these for prospects versus spending the money to travel to camps on college campuses where the coaches actually are.

It is not like info from these camps never trickles out. For a lot of kids, it is absolutely a way for them to get on the map early.

For the most part, these camps are predatory and for the vast majority only separate kids from their money.

That's a list of the best performers at the QB camp.

Some interesting names for me were:

Eric Barriere: HUDL This kid really has it all imo, except the frame. Very strong arm, accurate, mobile, good feet, scrambles too much, but that frame is going to hold him back a lot I bet.

Max Gilliam: video Gilliam's film looks a lot like Matt Fink's. Nice frame, good arm, mobile. Betting our staff looks into this kid somewhere along the way.

Alex Farina: hudl decent frame, mobility will probably be somewhat similar to Sefo's maybe a little faster, arm was good but didn't jump out at me. Accuracy looked pretty top notch, probably his best attribute.
