Jolly seems to be getting a lot of late love, in part due to his recovery from an illness that had caused him to miss some significant playing time. He is being recruited by CU among others including SMU.

I'm very excited about Jolly. Love this prospect.

Rivals scouting report after seeing Jolly at December's Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas:

The story for PC West was, it has been all week. the heart they played with and the leadership of senior shooting guard Tyson Jolly. Jolly scored a game-high 24 points and delivered the winning assist while doing a little bit of everything else in between. There is not a more competitive player in the senior class and his natural leadership ability is apparent at all times. He makes enough jumpers to keep defenders honest, attacks off the dribble and plays intense defense. Currently a three-star prospect, Jolly has pretty much secured a spot in the 2015 Rivals150 and the offers should start rolling in soon because he is a winner.

SCOUTING REPORT

  • Strengths:
Tyson is an extremely athletic guard prospect. He uses his long arms and good defensive instincts to block several shots per game. He also is very skilled at attacking the basket. Has solid shot-mechanics on his jumper.
  • Weaknesses:
He must learn to use his left hand. He relies too much on his right hand, which will hurt him once defenders learn to take his right away from him. He also must play more aggressively on both ends of the floor.

Complete Rankings:

  • Player Grade: 85 (4-Star)

Skills Review:

  • Shooting: Good
  • Dribbling: Good
  • Passing: Average
  • Rebounding: Good
  • Intangibles: Excellent

Rivals.com national basketball analyst Eric Bossi recently wrote that Jolly "has pretty much secured a spot in the 2015 Rivals150." College coaches have taken notice as well. Cal offered the 6'4 shooting guard on Monday, and other high-majors like Colorado, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest have been calling.

"Cal, UTEP, and Colorado are the schools recruiting me the hardest," he told Gopher Illustrated.

Has Tad officially offered?

Not that I've seen. All I was going on was Jolly being quoted as CU recruiting him the hardest (along with Cal and UTEP). Looks like Cal is out of the picture now with SG Davon Dillard committing, so we should be in great shape.

Thanks for the info. His first step is super quick and he knows how to finish at the basket in traffic. I would take Jolly over the Euro.

Love Tyson's fluidity for his size. Confidence against the various bigs in his clips when he attacks. Nice player. He is such a nice fit for our present needs. Nice looking release. Buffs offer him a ton of solid bigs to work with, and make better. He reminds me physically of JHop, and they could be very complimentary together on the floor.

Like to see Tyson become a Buff

With the departure of Jaron Hopkins, I hope the coaches are making a big push for Jolly. Love this kid.
