Tad is now 8-2 in the Pac-12 tourney. 10-3 overall in conference tourneys. The 3 losses are to Kansas and Arizona (twice).

CU can't meet Arizona until the final. Just sayin'.

Dont wanna be that guy, but toss out 2012 and we are 4-2. (3-2 before tonight)

4-2 is still really good, though. I'll take winning 2/3 of conference games on a neutral court with the pressure on -- which maintains as a percentage with the 2-1 in the 2011 Big 12 tourney. (And 2012 counts the same way that busting a 99 yard run is inseparable from a guy's yards-per-carry.)

Oregon win, if it can be achieved, could salvage much of this season. Not all, but a whole bunch. It's big from where this team bottomed out, which appears to be AZ game. (Due respect to injury and "stubbed chemistry")

Just find a way.... Build unity back up.

Big win today no doubt. Likey

Really, the chance to get to .500 makes it worthwhile. Telling a recruit "we've never had a losing record since I've been head coach" might be helpful in some cases. And even using it to work on weaknesses could help, can't get the same opportunity in practice scrimmage.

If it comes, take it. Pride aside, we need the work. Just do.

Think some extra games while healthy would really do us some good, especially as we're not exactly loaded with seniors. Wonder if we're just not interested or what the deal is. If the bar is higher this season for whatever reason and we just can't get in on account of our record, so be it, but I'd be disappointed if we turned down the opportunity.

And if we won it we'd hit 20 wins

Yes that too. I understand everyone was expecting more, it's been a long frustrating season and seems time to take a break, but if a few more games are offered there are a lot of positives. Maybe tomorrow the thinking by CU will be different.

Hope so, but this quote makes it seem pretty set. Maybe we're open to it but Tad doesn't see much chance. Maybe we don't want to pay for home games and don't want to go visiting god knows where on the road (if that's how the CBI still does things). With the CBI, I'm not sure how much of it is really "selecting" as opposed to just showing interest if you're a major conference program. Who knows.

We're extremely disappointed. This season is over with, and it always ends quickly and abruptly.

This highlights another Tad Boyle stat: the fact that we still haven't finished in the top-4 of conference standings (and thus haven't got first round byes). And it's not like the Pac-12 has been particularly strong since we joined. Bonus Tad stat #1: Every single current coach in the Pac-12 and Big-12 except for Krystkowiak has won more NCAA tournament games in their careers then Tad, and Krystkowiak will have passed him by this time next week. Bonus Tad stat #2: CU finished with the worst record this season of the 50-plus teams who received votes to be ranked prior to the season.

Dude, you're not following the script! You can't question tad Boyle on this site! Just be thankful he continues to stick around and not bolt for Kansas yet!

It's not just this site, here's a camera letter to the editor with some great points.

In my career as a senior writer at Sports Illustrated, I witnessed hundreds of coaches at work. Tad Boyle is at the top of the excellence scale, which is why CU is indescribably fortunate to have him.

Of those 7, Patton won 6 of them(Bzz with the other). He got 1 first round bye as well.

I don't think its a record thing with them-They struggle to get P5 teams because you're looking at 200k plus to host up to five games. Seems to me that a lot of teams who would be in consideration for this thing have their minds made up ahead of time. I don't think the Camera says "We're likely to take a CBI invite" if that isn't the case-I think this comes down to who they can get to play.
