cyler miles...voluntary leave

He should transfer to CU and stick to beating up Raiders/Chiefs fans.
He had nothing to do with that, he was just there.

Academics.............Mullen is the Colo HS equivalent of a pure FB factory, their college prep academics suck!
Oh good god, shut the **** up. Cyler is a good student and a smart kid, he wanted to get out of Colorado for other reasons. If he came here you wouldn't say any of that ****. In fact, why aren't you saying the same about Tim Coleman? Or Tyler Henington? Or any other Mullen kid who is playing or has played at CU.

Hey, how exactly is a rainbow made?
How exactly does the sun set?
How exactly does the posi-trac rear end on a Plymouth work!?

It just does

I disagree with Wizzer about Mullen and college prep, however, Cyler was anything but the bolded. I have close family members who went to Mullen with him.

For ****'s sake, people.

Report I saw is that something is going on in Cyler's personal life that is more important than football and urgent enough that he isn't participating in spring ball and may not play his RS-Junior season despite being a frontrunner to start. Reports said that this was not disciplinary or academic. smfh

Karma, Cyler, for whatever you're going through.

I was hoping to find a picture to make it clear I was joking around like a 6 year old saying someone else is lying. My information was 2nd hand, so it could be off. I don't really care either way, I just thought that Wizzer's post was out of line.

Really, I think the thing most likely to make me stop being a Buff fan is 'Tini. Damn I am getting tired of his schtick.

I mean you're more than welcome to put me on ignore. I was completely joking around with the "he is" comment

actually think tini is being quite reasonable here.

That's what I thought, too. I know nothing about Mullen's academics. But ripping on them in the context of Cyler leaving the UW football team is suggestive and inappropriate.

Thank you for the sanity.

Truth is if anyone here really knows what is going on they aren't talking. Until something is shown to be otherwise the phrase "Personal Issues" should be enough and mean hands off.

Unless they are committing a crime or doing something immoral players, ours and other teams, have a right to a degree of personal space outside of football. Unless something comes up to justify changing that in his case all I can say is that the bolded is the best answer.

I know kids who have gone to Ivy League or other hard-to-get-into schools straight from Mullen and done well. That statement is a bit over the top ... I'm sure some football players are not in the top ten academically or even the top 10%, but overall, Mullen is considered a good college prep school.

My vote for best response in this thread. Wish him well.

I hope everything works out for him and he can get back on the field. Good kid and a good player. Karma his way

It was the aggressive "shut the **** up" part. There is no reason you, or anyone needs to go there. I like your well reasoned arguements (although sometimes you need to learn when to let something go; you cannot get everyone to see things like you do). But the attacks like that are uncalled for. If what you say on a board would get you into a physical fight in person, don't say it on a internet forum.

And the reason I don't have you on ignore is I like 90% of what you put out here. The other 10% of fighting with others is tiring to all of us. The rest of what you said in the post was spot on. The first part was unnecessary.

Understandable

And this is the two year stretch when we don't even play UW. The one piece of good news that might have come from this story and that's denied as well.

Four words: Maurice. Greer. Devin. Aguilar. Maybe two more can be added?

Greer in particular spent four years staying "eligible" at Mullen helping win football games, yet when he left, he could barely read.

For athletes, Regis = solid; Valor = solid. Mullen = meh.

I wouldn't count that one as a sure bet.

Who was the QB that committed to CU then ended up getting his offer pulled and went to Kansas from Valor. Valor has an academic program designed to keep star athletes eligible.

Brock Berglund is who you are thinking of. Now at UNC, Greeley. I don't think academics were a problem, though.

Weren't a problem but it would be fair to say they didn't stretch him either.

Fact is that all of the private schools that want to establish a name for themselves with athletics make certain "accommodations" for athletes to allow them to succeed on the field or court.

Mullen had this, Valor has this, to my knowledge Regis does much less of it but Regis isn't trying to establish themselves as a dominant sports power.

The same thing happens a private schools all over the country. Anyone who thinks that a particular school is more guilty that another that is having similar results on the scoreboard is not functioning in reality.
