11 tickets are punched so far.

Patriot champion decided today. Just about all other games are 1st round affairs.

A UNC buddy of mine is saying the Big Sky tourney is about as wide open as he's seen it. He doesn't think the Bears will win it, but said don't count them out. Think it'd be great if they can at least make it to the finals and get on ESPN.

Lafayette won the Patriot. Bucknell (13-5 in regular conference play) will be in the NIT. Lafayette was 9-9 in Patriot play.

I'm a UNC alum, and I still pay attention to them.....Montana and Eastern Washington were the two best in the league all year-with Sac State (very cute story-They've been a non-factor for years) overachieving until they blew a game against Northern Arizona last week. My guess-A Montana-EWU final, with the homecourt tipping the scales to Montana.

Albany punched its ticket from the America East. Regular season champ, too. Worthy small conference bid.

Hampton and Delaware State are tied at half in the MEAC title game. They were 5th & 6th in the conference. Really a shame that NC Central got knocked off last night by DSU. NCC went 16-0 in conference play and also had a tough non-con that would have made them a team that would have been prepared for the Dance competition (at UNC, Creighton, Cincy, Maryland, Memphis). Could have upset someone. The winner of this game will just be fodder.

Saw the highlights of the end. Albany kid dropped a 3 as the clock was running out to win it. Not only do they get to go to the tourney but the kid gets to live out one of those dreams that you practice in the driveway growing up.

Hampton's in from the MEAC. 16-17 team from a small conference takes an auto-bid. Expect them to be in one of the 16-seed play-in games this week.

This is what happens when you make a conference tourney be for all the marbles. One team gets hot, another has an off night, and suddenly you have a sub-.500 team in the tourney looking to get killed while a team that could have at least looked like they belonged stays home or maybe goes to a minor tourney.

Doesn't matter so much in the multi-bid conferences but when a conference is getting only one then it's an issue.

The big conferences can afford to put it on the conference tourney both because the best resular season team(s) are going anyways and the conference tourney gets them more TV exposure and makes money.

I wonder if the smaller conference tourneys even make money, they don't add much exposure, and arguably don't serve the best interest of the conferences.

UAB won C-USA. Looks like a 1-bid league. LA Tech and Old Dominion are hovering right around 50 in the RPI (aroung 100 spots better than UAB). The C-USA tourney made the Dance field worse with the 2 top teams losing before the finals.

Wyoming wins the Mountain West.

Not the most talented team but they are well coached and play their system. They aren't a threat to win it but they could be one of those teams that more talented teams don't want to end up facing.

I've got nothing but respect for that Wyoming team. They manhandled the Buffs this year.

Other finals:

TX Southern wins the SWAC
Iowa State with a very impressive comeback to be KU for the Big 12

That Wyoming game was terrible. I was switching and forth between the Kansas ISU game and that one. I swear at one point the score was 33-34, I watched the KU game for at least 15 minutes, came back and the score was 40-39 and 10 minutes of game time elapsed. Even the big 10 laughed at the final score.

Congrats to Wyoming, you did what it took.

Buffalo won the MAC by beating C Michigan. Those were the 2 best team and Buffalo has an RPI around 30. Not a bad team to choose for a 1st round upset if they get a decent matchup.

Carolina Mafia is NOT happy about an ACC newb coming in and beating Duke and UNC in back to back nights on their home turf. Congrats ND! Hell of a season.

E Washington takes down Montana for the Big Sky title. They're a good team that can score. Will be a fun team to watch in the Dance. Threat to win a game or two. Winning a game as they did at Indiana is no joke.

I've been very impressed with them. EWU is no joke. Could easily pull an upset

Stephen F Austin won the Southland. I think everyone knows how dangerous they are after last season.

Arizona is our Pac-12 champion. Absolutely destroying Oregon. Only drama in the last 5 minutes has been whether UA will win by more than 30.

Big moment for them. Last time they won the Pac tournament their players were in Kindergarten and Sean's brother was still playing for Herb Sendek at NCSU. The Backstreet Boys were topping charts.

Absolute beat down of the Ducks. Was essentially a home game for AZ but Oregon looked like they used everything up last night to beat the Utes. Having to come back against CU and the Utes drained them. There was no hustle and their legs looked tired. By the way, have I said I hate the AZ fans? Made me wish the Ducks could have ruined their party but there was never a question. AZ plays like they did tonight, they will make some serious noise in the Dance.

All about sustaining it. Zona is capable of making the Final Four if they play like they have in some recent games. Question I have is whether our struggles as a conference this year prove difficult for Arizona to adjust to after months of a tame Pac12 when the second week rolls around.
