Weren't they recently competing for a big recruit with UGA where things got a little screwy? Wouldn't surprise me at all if the SEC school dropped a dime on UCLA, their cone of silence only seems to apply to schools in their league. Although they went into Texas pretty hard as well so it could also be Texas or OU pissed about perceived "poaching" on their turf. I'm pretty sure Texas is widely suspected of being the school that tried to turn Oregon in, though that school seems to be covered in teflon as far as the NCAA is concerned thanks to their fairy god-donor.
