ranking of top 25 college transfers and complete list, with "eligible to play when" info

h/t ahokie4u at techsideline.com

Hopkins and Thomas not in top 25 list.

not my preferred direction of college hoops, but transfers are a reality of today's game.

Mark Tollefson is intriguing. He is 6-9 and would be that stretch 4 we have been looking for.

Where's the excitement? I thought everyone was happy that our issues are being addressed and we have the talent we need for the next 3-4 years? Let me know when you figure out that this years class is a complete miss! While other PAC12 teams were reloading..... we took another full step back! The story is becoming very consistent..... Tad goes to the gym to watch a recruit and falls in love and signs someone that no one else had on their radar!

This is what happens when you don't have a Rocky to level out the Bw

Have to admit, I find the new recruits to not be PAC 12 caliber. Looks like we are just getting bodies and not great talent! What am I missing? I agree with Bullwinkle....... This class looks weak.

Good luck bballfan...... This is the homer forum! Tad says he's the one and the fans on this forum start worrying about the recruit leaving for the NBA. It's ok to trust Boyle..... But on this forum its blindly. CU basketball is in trouble. Top recruits are avoiding the program. Last season might be a highlight after the 2015-2016 season. They still haven't figured out that Josh Scott's last season is coming quickly and we don't have a replacement! They think we can compete with 4 guards and Gordon who's afraid to shoot the ball!

From the same person who is saying the front court was the issue last year

I think a lot of people here are concerned about the team next year and recruiting right now, but they don't need to post like a royal cocksucker.

Oh look! Bullwinkle got himself a sock puppet! Cute .........................and stoopid! Can't you Lammies be more creative than that?

I'm excited for Akyazili, he seems to be talented but there is always risk in recruiting. Guzonjic is a crap shoot, he hasn't played in a year so I have no idea what to expect.

Not sure what everyone is upset with in this post. The "complete miss" is too early to tell, but I certainly wouldn't put any money on it being better than any of the last 3 classes.

And the "Tad goes to the gym to watch a recruit and falls in love and signs someone that no one else had on their radar!" is 100% right. It's happened numerous times.

Other than Staltzer, who are you referring to? Collier and Miller had other options. Hopkins, Fletcher, King, and Thomas had other options. Scott and Staltzer are the only two that come to mind.

King had "other options", but none were official.

I realize we're all in happy fantasy fun land, and no one's a bigger Tad fan than me, but the man has a tendency to fall in love on a single performance with some recruits. King is the most obvious one. Now it sounds like Akyazili is in the same boat. I hope both pay off, but it's risky.

What? Dude.... Scott was a 4 star recruit and a major win for Boyle! King, Talton, Eli, Ben Mills and more were good players, but a stretch for the PAC 12! I love the buffs and feel like we should be a top program every year, but in my opinion, I'm seeing us starting to reach for talent that just doesn't make sense. It's going to be interesting to see if we sign DeRon Davis, the best player in the state since Chauncey! Even more important, I realize that the guard play at CU has not been great, but you need to ask yourself what happens to our front court when Josh leaves next year? It's a huge issue and our recruiting hasn't addressed it at all!

Scott didn't earn his 4th star until after he blew up on the AAU circuit prior to his senior year, after he had committed to us.

I agree about Talton and Eli. Mills was a late cycle guy the same year Tad got hired. A 7'0" at thst stage is certainly worth a look.

Wasn't Ski a similar situation as well? Went to see another player and liked Ski more.

The front court is definitely an issue, but it's in decent shape for the 16-17 season, with Wes and Tory starting and the new stretch 4 as a back up. Of course, Wes needs to grow a pair and gain some consistency. And Tory needs to learn to move his feet on the defensive end. Sure, there needs to be a '16 front court recruit, but the back court is of greater concern. Steady pg play this season (and health) should result in a big year for Scott, which can only help with recruiting a big in '16. The question is, can Dom and some combination of the Belgian, Talton and the bit that Fortune plays the point result in enough consistency to get the bigs the ball when they need it?

Doubt that '16 big ends up being DeRon, unfortunately.

There are a lot of 7ft stiffs in high school! It's not worth taking a chance unless you truly believe the player can make a difference. Mills negatively impacted the program for 4 seasons. CU is a great institution and has the ability to compete for the best talent in the country. The PAC 12 is a strong basketball conference, we will not be able to continue to improve without talent. We should have an average recruiting grade of 4 stars every cycle, but it's dangerous to find diamonds in the rough during the spring signing period. California just signed Ivan Rabb.... A 5 star recruit..... ASU just signed Bobby Hurley as a coach! UCLA, Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Stanford, Oregon State and other PAC 12 teams are getting better everyday. This is not the time to reach for recruits. I wish I was more positive about out future, but I'm worried that the program is on the way to mediocracy!

Going to have to sign recruits now to be ready for the 2016- 2017 season. Gordon doesn't have offensive skills and Miller needs a huge amount of development. Josh has played at such a high level that we're a little spoiled. The 2016 freshman class top recruits will start committing this July. If we don't get DeRon then where do we go? Another European or Australian? This stretch 4 we just signed might be ok...... But the talent he'll face will be NBA caliber!

No, no there isn't.

An actual accounting of 7-footers, domestic or global, does not exist in any reliable form. National surveys by the Center for Disease Control list no head count or percentile at that height. (Only 5% of adult American males are 6’3″ or taller.)…The curve shaped by the CDC’s available statistics, however, does allow one to estimate the number of American men between the ages of 20 and 40 who are 7 feet or taller: fewer than 70 in all. Which indicates, by further extrapolation, that while the probability of, say, an American between 6’6″ and 6’8″ being an NBA player today stands at a mere 0.07%, it’s a staggering 17% for someone 7 feet or taller.

Here's a list of the top 50 big men in the class of 2015 according to ESPN and where they committed for next year! Help me understand why we were not able to sign even one of them? Take a second and study the list. If you want to win in D1 you win with Talent!

Because coming in we had one open scholarship and put all the effort into getting Dorsey on that scholarship. And big man is not as big of a need this cycle as you are trying to make it out to be.

Agreed. This is a dicey time for CU basketball. If you don't have some concerns right now you're blind.

Bullwinkle..... Don't waste your time. This is a fan forum, not a basketball forum. If they knew hoops they wouldn't be making these silly comments. They don't understand recruiting cycles and they don't understand what a talented big means to a program. They'll remember after Scott's gone and there's no one to own the paint. If you want good basketball talk go to the rivals site...... Better basketball IQ. Less name calling too!

The main disagreement is how critical a quality big is with the '15 class. Sure, it would be great if Tad had signed a 4/5* big today, but I find much more fault with the lack of quality guards in the program. Guard play resulted in a 16-18 season, not the front court.

There are definite concerns currently. Next season is critical to the future of CU basketball. The expectations will be much lower next season than they were prior to the past season, so a top 4 finish in conference will be a big step toward getting recruiting back on a higher level.
