So, the #4 (conference) seeded Buffs play the #1 seeded and #15 (Coaches poll)/ #10 (Inside Lacrosse poll) nationally ranked Stanford Cardinal 4:00 today in a 2nd/ semifinal round game of the MPSF Conference Tournament at DU's Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
After not being very competitive in 2 games last year, the Buffs gave Stanford all it could handle earlier this year before suffering a tough 16-14 home loss, mainly fueled (if I remember correctly) by Stanford's pressure defense causing the Buffs problems in the 2nd half. (Per the stats, after being pretty even in turnovers the 1st half (9-7), Stanford had a big 11-1 edge in the 2nd half.)
The winner in this game will advance to the championship game that's scheduled to start at 11:00 AM MT Sunday at DU, and will play the winner of this evening's USC vs. DU game.
