Preseason All-Pac 12

where would you rank him among LB's in the PAC last year?

His injuries started early and often last year and the guy lost 20 lbs during the season. Had he been fully healthy, I have no reason to believe he wouldn't have been an Honorable Mention All-Pac 12 kind of player. No reason to believe he can't be 4th team All-P12 this year.

But the question is, did you think it?

I never mentioned Gillam, one way or the other, until tante decided to downplay his projected preseason award. I just said I didn't think it was a stretch to say a Unanimous Freshman All-AMERICAN would be a 4th Team All-P12 player.

Annoying as TS is, he does have a point.

I'm gonna go take a shower now.

not sure his point is all that good considering the concussion and injury worries that will follow Gillam until he goes through a whole season more or less unscathed, at least. Dude has trouble staying on the field.

The whole rankings are just projections of what the "experts" think they will do this season, using some of their history as a barometer of what they can do. If Gilliam is healthy it's an easy projection to make him 4th Team Pac. If he gets hurt it's also easy to say why he didn't live up to the prediction, pretty easy pick to make.

You have to be careful pointing at any all-Freshman lists in football. There may have been plenty of better freshman LBs on teams around the country but they were behind upperclassmen. I'm not trying to take away from Gillam's freshman year (one of the few bright spots) but don't read too much into that award.
