Dan Hawkins chosen as US Head Coach for World Cup

since i don't even know what world cup american football is or who else plays it or when it is in season or when it started, or basically, anything at all about it, i have to give hawkins credit. i had previously assumed he'd end up a position coach at uc davis or similar level school. this is even more obscure.

good luck juice box; show them your special skill to take a reeling program and make it so much ****ing worse.

Work on the little things, bring your lunch pail, blue collar, twinkle in the eye. Cinch it up, boys.

How many of the foreign team players learned American Football playing intramurals?

Who's his spin doctor?

The U.S. Men’s National Team is led by former Boise State and Colorado head football coach Dan Hawkins. Hawkins was 53-11 at Boise State from 2001-05, winning four consecutive Western Athletic Conference titles. His teams compiled a 31-game WAC winning streak, the longest in conference history. His five seasons at Colorado (2006-10) included a win over No. 3 Oklahoma in 2007, the same year he led the Buffaloes to the Independence Bowl.
Prior to Boise State, Hawkins coached Willamette University in Salem, Ore., to a 40-12-1 record from 1993-97, earning two conference titles and a 1997 NAIA championship game berth. Currently serving as a college football analyst for ESPN and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Hawkins was the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2013.

Obviously the sneaky devil is looking to break the single game "giving up the biggest lead and end up losing" record in World Cup competition now that he has it nailed down in the NCAA. Unfortunately he missed out on the record in the CFL since the Montreal ownership has the common sense God gave a billy goat and canned him before he could pull of his devilish deed.

Hoping to see this team run through the fire and try some double bear eagle and stuff like that.

I can't really fathom how this format works:
"...Matchups are July 9, 12 and 15 with consolation games and the medal round on Saturday, July 18..."

Is it double elimination? Either way, I'm assuming you have to win at least 2 games to get to the championship, which means they are playing every 3 to 6 days? That's some iron man football right there.

On being USA Coach and qualifying:
"It's been awesome. I'm just always fired up to go. We automatically qualified, so it gave our guys a little bit of juice and a little bit of fire to kind of go alright, let's go. So that was awesome."

On playing Mexico in the first round (7/9):
"We have a lot of little things to work on and we'll get better. We have to tweak a few things on defense, it’s always just a glitch here or there, you know you have nine or ten guys doing the right thing and a couple of guys out of whack. Guys are getting a bunch of snaps, seeing a bunch of plays and blocks and getting a feel for it. We'll run some double eagle bear and do some different things. Guys are starting to buy in, starting to get it."

On the tournament being moved from Sweden to Ohio:
"We're gonna wave the flag a little bit and we're gonna keep battling and scratching. There's always a little bit of "Is South Korea the one with Kim Yong" or "Is Australia a country or a continent?" or "What's France's deal?" but you try to look at the whole thing and go "That's what this whole deal is all about."

On who will play quarterback:
"We'll see. I think we'll probably get through a couple of scrimmages there and give everybody really a chance to kind of compete and get going and do their deal. I think they all have a little bit of moxie, but whoever wins the job, it's going to be let's get going and just go."

On Misti:
"She's awesome, she's a saint. She kind of comes in and goes, "Mexico has a football team?" or "Will this tournament even be televised?" or "How many people can say that an entire state hates them?" or "I think I married a man who is completely full of ****" so there's that side too so I just kind of have to go "Be abnormal and let's go."

Good God. I thought that was real until I read the responses.

I hate that man and the scar he left.

Scary.

How is this mental midget still being given opportunities to prove his stupidity?

Thought I'd give you guys an update from the IFAF coverage. Yes these are real.

“I think life is about being as great as you can be every day,” Hawkins said. “We just try to be as great as you can be each day" 7/8/15

"We wanted to get pressure on the quarterback tonight, and if he made plays we were just going to tip our hat to him and move on.” 7/10/15

"The little things can have a big effect on a game,” Team USA head coach Dan Hawkins said. “We’re just going to focus on the tiny details. Things like hand placement, foot placement and eye placement." 7/11/15"

I am searching for a bottle of booze to help forget that I had to deal with that for 5 years.
