No criminal charges.

Isn't this like a 1-game suspension anywhere else? If that?

Un-fu*king-believable. This better change before the season starts. Hey, at least there's a happy father of whiny little s*it out there who can brag about this on the dailycamera.

RG and MM need to really go to bat at this. This is bull****. The charges were dropped because of lack of evidence, yet they suspend him for the year? ****ing bull****

The article says the charges were dismissed for the time being. Could they be brought back up?

Isn't that what this would be since the charges were dropped?

I dunno. The article says they were dismissed for the time being. That implies that they could be brought back up.

I got that from the original report in the Daily Camera about the charges being dismissed. It's linked in my article.

"The motion stated that prosecutors moved to dismiss the case "without prejudice in order to continue to investigate." Dismissing a case without prejudice means prosecutors can choose to re-file charges in the case at a later time."

So is he able to appeal? What is the process going forward? I have to imagine that he has some options to fight this.

Time to sound like a misogynist ****, but I'll bet my donation to athletics that this was the work of some dumb faculty **** who is still shellshocked from Katie Hnida and is trying to send a message. Wake up you dumb ****. God I wish I was in the room.

Looks like he can:

An appeal may only be submitted if a student was, terminated from a residence hall, suspended, or expelled from the university. The student may appeal under the following criteria: 1) Severity of sanction; 2) Process was not followed; and/or 3) There is new information available that was not available at the time of the original hearing. For more information, see Student Conduct Appeals.

I'm angry as well. But doesn't the kid deserve some of the blame? He knew what the rules were.

Blame for what? From my understanding, they don't even know if he was there. As far as I know, there isn't any evidence that he did anything. Thus the reason the charges were dropped.
