BOULDER – University of Colorado head lacrosse coach Ann Elliott has announced the hiring of Alex Frank as assistant coach on Thursday.

Frank joins the Colorado lacrosse staff after serving as an assistant coach at Boston College for the last three seasons. Her lacrosse career spans seven years, first beginning in 2008 as a midfielder at Northwestern University. She played under Elliott all four years of her collegiate career. Elliott served as an assistant coach at the time. Frank helped her team win three Division I National Championships, first in 2009 and then back-to-back titles from 2011-12.

Welcome to Coach Frank! (The article doesn't say whether she's replacing an existing coach or not. Neither of the prior year assistant coaches, Colleen Magarity and Hannah Nielsen. show in the coaches page of cubuffs ( http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect....=104095&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=600&Q_SEASON=2015 ) for this coming year, but I know Ms. Nielsen, anyways, wasn't showing up there as a coach for ANY year until recently, so don't know how accurate that webpage is right now.)

Just wanted to mention I found through google search that the coach Ms. Frank is replacing is Colleen Magarity, who appears to have gone back to her home area of Philadelphia, where she is both helping coach and is director of a lacrosse club (http://big4lax.com/), and has been named the head coach of the William Penn Charter School (per the below). Best wishes to her.

(Note- the 2015/16 coaches page for cubuffs lacrosse ( http://www.cubuffs.com/SportSelect....=104095&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=600&Q_SEASON=2015 ) also doesn't list Hannah Nielsen, the other Buff assistant since the start of the program, as an assistant this year. However, from what little I can see (articles describing her as (still) being a CU assistant while assisting at a camp of Ms. Magarity's this summer, her twitter description), Ms. Nielsen appears to still be a Buff's coach. There were also some issues with her not being listed as a coach in prior years until recently, so I'll assume her current exclusion is just a webpage error unless/ until other info becomes available.)

Thanks for the heads-up about this thread....new to allbuffs and just learning to navigate it. This answers my question about Magarity. Hopefully Nielson is still around, and yes, the newest addition would typically be take the volunteer coach slot first year out of college as she is. Doesn't specify that in the announcement, but that would be the typical position for someone like her.

No problems. Welcome to allbuffs!
