QUICKLY: The University of Colorado women’s soccer team returns to the pitch this weekend, continuing its non-conference portion of the schedule. The Buffs look to earn its second straight win when they welcome Cincinnati to Prentup Field on Friday, Sept. 4 at 4:30 p.m. MDT and then host former Big 12 foe Iowa State on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. MDT. This weekend’s matches are the final two of a three-game homestand for the Buffs.
...
COLORADO VS. CINCINNATI: The Buffs lead the all-time series, 1-0 as they earned the victory in their only meeting with the Bearcats three seasons ago. CU defeated Cincinnati 2-1 in a neutral site match played in Denver.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS: Cincinnati is 2-1-1 on the young season and unbeaten in its last three matches after dropping its season opener. A trio of Bearcats each have scored one goal and Julie Gavorski has tallied the team’s only assist. Two goalkeepers have seen playing time in 2015 and have combined to only allow two goals while tallying three shutouts.

COLORADO VS. IOWA STATE: The Buffaloes are a stellar 12-2-1 all-time against the Cyclones, including a perfect 9-0 at home. CU is unbeaten in its last nine matches versus ISU, holding an 8-0-1 record. Sunday will mark the first meeting between both schools since 2010, Colorado’s final year in the Big 12 Conference.

SCOUTING THE CYCLONES: Iowa State is 3-1 overall and will play a Friday match at Colorado College before traveling to Boulder. The Cyclones are led offensively by Lauren Roeling and Haley Albert- both have two goals each. Iowa State is coming off its first win against a top 10 opponent in school history, having defeated 10th-ranked Pepperdine last weekend. The Cyclones have shutout each opponent in all three of their wins.
...
GAME PROMOTIONS: Local youth soccer clubs are invited to bring their teams out to Friday’s match. All clubs in attendance will be given the opportunity to promote their team. On Sunday, fans are encouraged to Pedal to Prentup as the first 100 bikers to arrive at the field will receive a free CU soccer t-shirt.

Good luck to the soccer team!

With all the fall sports finally all starting and in action this weekend, soccer is the only one of four sports home this weekend. Make those opponents FEEL the altitude!

Cincinnati match starting in ~15 minutes. Oops= make that 45 minutes.

Buffs with 1st good chance a minute or two ago. Long pass from Orejel found Greening's head, and she headed it towards the lower left corner of the net. Goalie was just able to direct it wide for a Buffs corner. (Nothing happened out of the corner.)

Buffs lacking creativity in the final third outside of play of Brie Hooks.

Wondering why Kinzner didn''t play much in the first half.

GOOALLLLLLLLLLL for frosh Greening!!!!!!!

Per live stats- "47:28 Colorado 0 - 1 GOAL by COLO Greening, Erin (FIRST GOAL), Assist by Kinzner, Sarah, goal number 2 for season."

I believe it was Greening's second goal of the season, the first coming against Colorado College.
