Admit it Goose .... You just do this to see if I'm paying attention and to keep me on my toes.

Some schools are starting to announce non-conference basketball schedules. Here's the first piece I have seen that has CU in the schedule: Florida will be coming to Boulder for the Thanksgiving weekend tourney. Looks like first round games are Florida versus Ball State and CU versus UMass on Friday 11/27 with consolation and championship on Saturday 11/28. The Florida games in Boulder are the home visit games for Carlie Needles of Highlands Ranch. Doesn't look like either of the other teams has a player from Colorado on their rosters.

That's a quality home tourney. Thanks for posting, BeBe.

Thanks for this. This will be my annual visit to Boulder this season. A friend who sat in the row behind me didn't renew his season ticket, so I have called to request to be moved to his seat. Said they were working on the men's and it would be August before they do the women's requests for seat changes.

Saw a picture of Alina Hartmann posted a photo of her and "the team" in Amsterdam. Looked at the Buffs website and she isn't listed on the roster as of today. Does anybody know if this is the case?

It appears she is playing with the SV Halle Lions and not the Buffs.
This would mean the Buffs just got younger still in the backcourt.

This is not a good thing. Alina had potential and improved all last season.

From an interview with Alina, translated using Google translate http://www.halle-lions.de/news/news-details/datum/2015/08/24/eine-woche-rum-fuer-alina/

You have the United States addressed. One year since you've played in college at the University of Colorado. What was difficult there, that you have now decided you for a return?

If you play there, you're professional and the study is on the side. But that was important to me, and the Interpersonal and some free time remains. In the US, everything is subordinated to the success of the team, the individual will not be considered. I knew in advance not to the extent, but I wanted to try it and it definitely helped me human.

No doubt. Not only did she look on track to be improved and in the hunt for a starting spot her loss means the Buffs will be thin in the backcourt.

If you look at the roster now, it seems the options for the backcourt are:
Juniors Lauren Huggins & Haley Smith. Both are listed as guard/forwards on the official roster, but in my estimation both would struggle to defend on the relatively quick players on the perimeter.

Sophomore Brecca Thomas looked to be coming on late last season. The big question for me is her leadership, which is something that the team desperately needs.

Freshmen Kennedy Leonard and Alexis Robinson were highly regarded coming out of HS, but are they both ready for significant playing time with pressure to produce on both ends of the court immediately?

One of CU's issues the past two seasons has been defending and in particulr putting pressure on the oppositions perimeter players while at the same time preventing dribble penetration. If CU is going to improve this season they are going to in large measure be counting on several youngsters to get the job done.

Agree with everything you said above, Mark.

Another issue with Brecca is her size. Even by season's end, she was still trying to penetrate the lane when it wasn't there. She should have known by the end of the season whether that option is open or not.

Appears to me Leonard and Robinson have to ready for prime time.

I've never been impressed with the defense of Huggins--only her 3 point shooting when she is on.

And gmail has filled in my calendar for both the men and the women with times and dates.

Is it November yet?
