Question about Offense

Is it just me or do we rarely seem to hit a receiver in stride (cross, slant, seam, post)? It seems when the receiver catches the ball on 90% of our passing plays it is on a stop or come back route and he has no momentum moving down field.

Is that by design or is it because we are limited by personnel?
