Apples-to-apples, QB play was in CU's favor against UO

UO may be in the worst QB situation in P5 football. They rotated a walk-on PAT placeholder for half the game at QB. Swap QB's last night and UO wins by a lot more. The fact of the matter is not that CU has great QB play, it doesn't. The point is that other than at QB UO holds a huge advantage over CU in talent.

Most will say this is a stupid idea.....but if MM is feeling desperate, and I think he should, perhaps he should pull Montez' redshirt. It may be the only chance MM has to survive.

Allsome. Pointing out the fact that Oregon has more talent than CU. ****ing brilliant analysis.

Where will Montez make CU better this year? CU desperately needs him on the OL or at LB. He is certainly needed on kickoff coverage.

Well....if he is anything like other true freshman QBs that have made impacts in CFB this year, we could win some games....even with the deficiencies you reference.

I think he's pointing out that Oregon's 2nd and 3rd teams had more talent than us last night.
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. "Other than at QB, UO holds a huge advantage over CU in talent." Yes, Royce Freeman and Oregon's OL is infinitely more talented than our front 7. Of course, we already knew this...

Uninjured Sefo is the same good QB he was last year. Most college QBs don't see the field and miss an open guy every series.

What has really happened is that Lindgren is having Sefo play more conservatively and let plays develop. we only have possession receivers. With our Oline and receiving game Sefo MUST get the ball out of his hands quick and that probably means he NEEDS to read the D before the ball is snapped and lock onto his go to guy as soon as the ball is snapped. That was the Lingrenn strategy last year and nothing has changed enough for him to abandon it.

UO's QB play was horrible.

Team that can't throw and can't cover in the secondary. Only way they can win is to completely dominate on the lines. They did.

P.S. Best throw I saw all night by either team was from the UO WR on the reverse pass. That was a dime and was ridiculously good. Usually the WR would eat the ball or throw a pick (or throw it away) in that position. Perfect pass, in stride, and on a rope that gave the DB no chance to recover.
