Just another reason to pull for CU!

As if I needed anymore. So, I get out of work, get in my car, and turn on the radio which is set to AM 950 "The Fan." Irv, Joe, Jim, and another ****tard media guy are talking about how ****ty CU will be this year and how great Sunny Lubick's csu squad is and how they will obliterate CU. The "other guy" says CU will be awful and will not be in the top 5 in the North. I'm wondering two things. Who is the ****tard and how often does Sunny give Joe and Irv a blow job? Turns out the ****tard is John Henderson of the Post. Or is it the News? Who knows? The more I listened to ****tard Husker Henderson, the more I realized he has no clue. I don't think he was able to name one player from any of the teams the old farts mentioned. Anyway, back to the point. In 1,426 hours and 13 minutes, CU is going to begin a big time ass kicking on sunny and his ewes.

I heard that too, I was like wow when he said that CSU was WAY better than CU. Bull****! I hope the csu players think the same. They also seem to think that csu will be this great team now that Kyle Bell is back. I am willing to bet Bell wont be the same, no one ever is after a ACL injury. Joe also thinks the lambs win 9 games this year.

**** the lambs, I hope the Buffs kick their ass!

Wow. I havent listened to those foogies in years, but it sounds like they have really changed their tune. Joe was always a Buff homer. I will probably drop dead from shock if the rams win 9.

It seems that ever since CU didn't go after Joe's good friend Dave Logan for coach, he has bashed the buffs even more.

Irv doesn't say much, I wonder because his son is the Buffs secondary coach.

You are on the money. Joe, it seems, has some sort of bitterness lingering from the coaching change. He doesn't seem to have a very good opinion of Hawk. He talks about Lubejob with a kind of reverence that guys like Paterno or Bowden get. I think he and sunny are lovers. Irv, on the other hand, seems to be afraid to say anything about CU that would give anyone ammunition to call him a "homer" because of his son. He goes out of his way to NOT say anything good about CU. I'm beginning to realize what an idiot Jim Armstrong is the more I listen to him. He will never let the truth get in the way of a good "quip." As for John Henderson, I have never payed much attention to him but I seem to remember someone on this board say he has some kind of hard on for the fuskers. When CU gets rolling and the bandwagon is getting full again, I don't think these morons should be allowed to jump on.

That running game was the sorriest excuse for a running attack that I have seen in years - and I am not faulting the running back for that laughable performance. Bell will help but that is not all that they need.

The defense better also get a LOT better quick. We had an offense that was incapable of running more than a handful of plays with no ability to pass and we still should have been able to win the game.

Anyone who knows their ass from their elbow should not be spouting off about anything CSU at this point.

The biggest factor of the game will be if CU can find a QB that is worth a ****.

That is the biggest, most obvious knock on CU. I truly believe that Cody Hawkins will be a lights out improvement. I liken him to the Daniels kid at Mizzou. He has a good arm, but more importantly, he is a coaches kid that understands the game. It seems to me that coach's kids are always heady and good at their sport. Hey, Cody was No. 3 at the Elite 11 quarterback camp. Whateverthe**** that means.

The Denver media has always been in love with Sonny, something I could never understand. It's like he can do no wrong and because he's "cute and funny" with his words so they won't say or write a bad word about him. Joe Williams always seems to play the devil's advocate with CU and especially the Broncos. And Sandy has always hated CU for some reason. At least Sandy doesn't talk college football too much, probably because he's too busy gushing over the Avs all the time. There's a pair that's in bed together. The one thing I will give to Irv and Joe is that they were about the only media members (along with Woelk) that stood up in CU's and GB's defense in the scandal-that-wasn't.

I think the CU lammie game will be close or we may even lose it. We shouldn't lose, but I think the team will not have the confidence in itself yet to crush the lammies the way they could. They've been training really hard and they know they've made a lot of progress but they don't really know just how much progress they have made, yet. Sometime between game 2 & 3 our buffs are going to realize what they are capable of, the momentum will start rolling and then things will start to come together. By the time we hit conference play we are going to look like a completely different team than the one that lined up against the lammies 4 weeks earlier. JMHO

I hate playing CSU first game out. That first game by nature is unpredicatable for just about every team and often is a anomaly when compared to the rest of the season.

I can't figure out how they can say they'll stomp us. 1-7 in the dreaded mountin west last year? How is there any sign that there will be marked improvment this year?

I agree. We need to schedule some weak assed Div 1-AA team for the first game. A team like Montana State or someone that we can knock the rust off against.

I had forgotten about that game. Thanks for opening a old wound.

Guys,

We were 2-10 last year and we'll probably be starting a RS freshman at QB. Why would anybody expect us to do anything at all this year? I think it would be crazier if these guys said "Yeah, they sucked last year, but I they'll be a whole lot better this year". What would make them say such a thing?

Don't bring your logical BS here pal!!!

Here is what pisses me off. Hawk comes in and has a half year to try to pull a squad togeather with an entirely new system and philosophy. Many of the seniors, who had been through hell for 4 years, didn't buy in. Yet the Buffs were in all 12 games into the fourth quarter with a wide receiver playing quarterback and no wide receivers playing wide receiver! And so what if Cody Hawkins is a 5'-11 redshirt? Daniels was a 5'-11 redshirt as well, remember. Our receiving corps will be better. Our QB will be better. Our overall understanding of the system will be way better. I think there are a ton of positive things that the media asshats can look at if they so choose. They don't so choose. And thats what pisses me off!!!

Deep breath.

Good point thouigh. :smile2:

My problem is not what they're saying about CU, rather what they are saying about the lambs.

CSU sucked just a hair less than CU last year yet they are claiming csu will be some great team suddenly that will win 9 games and just DEMOLISH CU. I know CSU has a lot of senior leadership, and Kyle Bell back, but I'm not buying it. The CU/CSU game should be another great close game and it could go either way. There is no reason for ****tards to think that csu will kill cu, csu aint Oklahoma folks.

Completely agree. Not looking at all for anything positive to be said about CU - just laughing at them pumping up CSU since they have just as much to prove as we do in even being a respectable team.

I didn't post this at the time, but it is sticking in my craw. A few weeks ago, irv, joe and jim were busy putting CU down and were talking about how far behind the other schools in the Big XII that CU is. Then Irv said, "Many of the schools in the Big XII have indoor practice facilities, but CU doesn't. CU needs someone to step up and help fund an indoor facility." HUH? Hey Numb Nuts, why don't you take your creaky old knees over to CU and check out the construction of the practice bubble! During his rant, he talked about the lady up at csu that gave $20 million because she loves sunny loobik.

I do have to say one thing, it would be awesome if some billionaire gave a huge chunk of money to CU.

our billionaire only gave 1.5 mil

Sonny and Fisher have got such a free pass in the Denver media for a decade at least.

beating up on CU is the way the Bronco shil writers at the Post and RMN keep their jobs as "journalists" and "critical" without pissing off God-Shanny.

we are the all-purpose punching bag in the Denver media.

I like the comparisons to MU Daniels and CU's Cody albeit there are many similarities, and differences their height is the same their weight is not Daniels weighs around 220lbs. Hawk has been around this offence since his Jr yr in H.S. to extrapolate on this would basically mean the Hawk is as knowledgable as as R shoph. The playing speed is the only thing Cody lacks. I am willing to venture and say that Cody will surprise alot of the big 12 teams this yr. His completion percentages and rating (just a huntch) 58 to 61% range and will be 110 to 115 QB rating. This is all conjucture to the development of some of our seasoned WR such as; Barrett, Williams, and B-Jack. Maybe a surprise w/ Cellestene or the other two new freshman. I look for Sanders to be a big lift and performing well, well enough to get 3rd team all big 12! This is also a wild guess, but I feel confident w/ my estimates!

Both Irv and Joe say **** that is so ignorant.

Remember when Joe had it on record from a very reliable source that Ryan Miller would be going to Notre Dame? He just had to use this as just another example of how much things have 'changed' up in Boulder. Uh ya Joe, no ****, we all knew that long before you ****in said it.

And then being critical about letting Steve Watson's kid commit to Michigan? It was well known on the recruiting sites for almost a year when Joe lamented on this that Watson Jr. wanted to go out of state to play.

I could go on and on about some of the stupid crap that has come out of their mouth, but it would be nice if they would inform themselves.

You could put any hall of fame QB you want back there. If our oline isn't improved over last year we still are gonna suck and that Hall of Famer is gonna go out on a stretcher. BTW, whoever starts is gonna be rookie thats a long way from being good.

You guys need to lay off the Kool Aid before you end up shooting someone in a fit of rage.

The Buffs have proven nothing. Yet.

Your right. I said the same thing awhile back on a recruiting board on scout.com and people went nuts. If you don't have a good line to protect the qb then he will get smashed on all day! It all starts up front on the oline.

No ****. These guys probably all sold stocks in the late 90's. Irrational Exuberance and then some.

I"ll admit I have a bias as well; after the last few years I refuse to poor myself into the Buffs again until they start winning. The last few seasons have been very depressing. GB became very hard to support or believe in at all since about '03 and on and that took a lot of the fan out of me. I still love my Buffs but my emotional gas tank is on E.

Hawk is doing a good job I believe. I think we see this next class come out strong AND we go into '08 with some good returning starters on offense and that should be the year to get excited about. I don't' think we can win 5 this year.

:gun: MIAMIBUFFS  And you say WE need to lay off the cool aid? Sounds like you already drank it!! Hay, I'm a realist. I know its going to take a couple of years. But, sheesh, I also pull for the Buffs and believe they and Hawk can surprise a lot of you nay sayers.

Sure, but its times like these that show who the real fans are. I was very depressed during the GB era. But its time to forget about him and move on. Hawk has the job of fixing this program and its going to take imo 3 years to do it. I am always an optimist. I believe the buffs will shock some teams this year. We can beat CSU, ASU, and FSU. We almost knocked of Georgia last year without a QB:wink2: And they are better than any of the non conference teams we play this year. Of course this is jmo.
