Ambitious but rubbish.

There have been some interesting comments attributed to Tad in the media regarding starters, King, XJ's injury, and significant minutes for XT/Stalzer. How do you guys think things shape us for us this year as a starting 5 (assuming no XJ).

We closed last season with this as our most common line-up:

PG - SKI
SG - Dom
SF - Fletch
PF - Wes
C - Josh

The comments re:King if any of you missed them were from Jon Rothstien who is right far more than he is wrong:

So where does that leave us for this season, I'd have to think Dom slides to the Point, and Josh is a lock at the 5 but how does the rest of it shape up?

Assuming Rothstein wasn't wrong...

PG - Dom
SG - Fortune
SF1 - Fletch
SF2 - King
C - Josh.

Small(ish) ball.

Gordon at PF; Collier at PG; Talton or Fortune at SG

If Fortune cant displace Talton we should not have accepted his transfer.
that's a fair comment. I initially put "Talton starts game 1" but I deliberated for a while on that before settling on the slash. haven't seen Fortune play and didn't follow his recruiting, so couldn't speak knowledgeably.

Snow has it right, assuming King is in there as a starter.

I'm more of the camp that thinks King gets starter minutes because he can play defense against 1-4. Not sure the position is material.

I like this lineup. And Wes to spell Jelly. Of course, if we get Wes and Tory in at the same time, that is a beefy front court.
Also, Brett Brady starting in place of Dom. CHA-CHING

Dom, Fortune and Josh are locked into starting spots. I'd say Wes is 99% locked in to one, unless Tad has decided to go small.

Wes looked like more of an off the bench guy last year and I don't see him improving much this year.

It is really a tail of two Wes, he's much more assertive when Josh is on the bench, and too deferential when he is on the court. If he can resolve that and not be afraid to take his chances when Josh is on the court there is a lot of value having Wes and his defense out there.

With XJ healthy i would have said better than 50% chance Wes comes off the bench although based on Rothestien's comment I'd have been wrong because it looks like XJ was projected at SF.

If Wes comes off the bench how do you see the line-up shaking out?

Dom
Fortune
Fletch
Wes
Josh

Any change to that means someone was a major camp surprise.

I guess that is more the issue, we don't have anyone who could take over that spot unless Miller improved a ton from last year. It would be nice to see Miller at the PF spot instead of a true center though.

I think this is correct. Wes, Guzonjic and Akyazili round out the 8 man rotation. I don't like Scott and Gordon on the court at the same time.

Until Miller learns to play D he won't get much.
White redshirting.
XJ hurt.
Talton and Stalzer are down here.
