So from the sounds of things, the AD is now going into bunker mentality. We've seen this play before. It has a crappy ending.

Honestly, I realize that the hole MM was given to dig out of was massive, but it's too much to ask fans to be patient this long. Yesterday's game was reminiscent of the 2012 ASU game. We got our asses kicked. Fans who spend money and invest their emotions in this program can be excused for venting some frustrations.

I have said that MM will not be fired this year, and I still believe that. But I think the fans are going to start to get pretty vocal about wanting a change if we can't see some tangible progress here soon. When that happened with GB, Hawk, and Embree, the standard response from the AD was to turtle. I'm starting to see some of the same stuff happening now.

With the state of the OL right now I don't know how it will happen but this team needs a win as bad as any program I can remember.

Somehow get a conference win and fans have some reason to hope. The entire program gets a jolt of positive energy.

Need to stop the negative spiral somehow.

I could see Mac staying but RG getting more involved in hiring new assistants...all the way up to OC if necessary. I really don't think this dink and dunk, 90 plays a game scheme is working or even could work in the PAC12...at least with the talent we have.

This will never happen

KOA last night went into bunker mode and only wanted homers on call. The AD has a very close relationship with them.

Just speculation. People were talking about winning 3-4 games haha. Maybe we can get 1-2, but no way 3-4. Even that is a toss up right now :(

But I'll be there on Saturday.

Dave Logan and Matt McChesney tore apart MikeMac today. Both saying behind the scenes there are all sorts of issues. If it's bunker mode now, I think it shifts quick to lynch mob.

Such as? I don't like hearing this. It was only speculation on my part. Rather hope it's not true.

I can personally confirm this.

I agree with everything here except for the comparison to the 2012 game. It's obvious to me that we had the athlete's and D coordinator to win this game if our O didn't crap the bed early. I'm probably way off, but just my observation.

McChesney's a 14 year old girl. What issues?

They refused to go into detail. Said they had to shift gears to the Broncos. Both were very upset about last night. Since they wouldn't say specifics it's hard to know if these "issues" are a big deal or they just have an agenda. Sorry there wasn't more.

And I hated hearing it too. I may not be psyched about MikeMac for the moment, but I do want him to succeed. Hopefully they were just upset and spewing nonsense.

Didn't Adam report some stuff after the Hawaii game?

I saw Leavitt give MacIntyre's kid a warm pat on the helmet after he made a catch last night. That doesn't appear to be "the" issue. Clearly keeping Neinas around and what happened between MacIntyre and Tumpkin on live television are issues, but it is there more? 1-19, including a current 13 game losing streak in conference play points to "issues".

Watching this team kill itself with so many errors is maddening. Execute properly, consistently and the game doesn't get out of hand. Better than the 2012 whippings but still it's like death by a thousand cuts.

Losing is the issue
Definitely.

I am now sorry for even posting what I did. I wasn't meaning to create a **** storm. I'd be totally fine if you chose to obliterate all my posts regarding such.

I do like MikeMac and really want him to succeed. But I do have my doubts at this point.

An athletic director keeping a head coach around but choosing the assistant coaches for him? That doesn't happen, nor should it.

I agree with that. I would lose a lot of respect for RG if he played it that way. And it would make it so much harder to hire the next coach because no one likes being micro-managed, let alone guys with HC egos who command multi million dollar salaries.

If RG believes that MM can't be trusted to fix the issues and build a staff, then the only reasonable thing for RG to do is fire MM and bring in someone he does believe in. And if he keeps him, he needs to let him do his job as he sees fit.

I think they should be in bunker mode. They are under siege. If you look at these boards many pumpers are crossing over to the dark side and now think slider is a reasonably guy. This is a normal thing. They have less and less defenders so they try to control the conversation since the defenders are no longer picking up the slack. It will not be successful. MacIntyre cannot keep saying "we need to fix a few things." in your 3rd season the question is why haven't you fixed it by now.

They need a win to calm the waters.

For sure. To have the exact same issues in PAC12 games that plagued us last year (turnovers, special teams) after making their correction the focus in the offseason is completely unacceptable. Sure...we're better and more physical but making all these mistakes is maddening and comes down to coaching IMO. We showed enough on the field to me where both Oregon and ASU were winnable if we didn't **** ourselves over. Ugh.
