I see a lot of interesting things happening if we keep our current commits.

QB-Sefo Liufau is out all of spring. Sefo has won a total of 2 conference games. He made no progression from Sophomore to Junior year. He stares at receivers and kills drives. Yes, his OL struggled but a 3rd year starter should have progressed more than he is.

Apsay goes through his progressions but is limited. I think Sefo started for a reason, he is a better football player. But how much better, not much.

Steven Montez is being penciled in as the starter. CU honestly needs him to be better than Sefo with a redshirt year. I feel if this was 2013 again, Montez may have started like Liufau did. I have seen Montez highlights a few times. Has a good arm and is mobile.

I fully expect to see Montez starting.

RB-This rotation thing has not worked out IMO. I feel like we were most efficient this year when a kid got the majority of the carries or only two backs did.

Michael Adkins can't stay health and Phillip Lindsay has a great heart and is a leader but it is limited. Solid speed, good strength. A good change of pace back IMO but the bellcow? I am not sure. Impressed me this year and you know he will work his ass off.

Patrick Carr has that speed and showed flashes. Probably best all-around back and a full year on-campus will help. I expect him to be the main guy next year.

Dino Gordon is intriguing and Anthony Julmisse should be played like Donovan Lee was this year. Donovan should be used that way as well, but is best utilized in slot and moving around.

WR-This position is still a strength even with Spruce departure.

Shay Fields is fast, he is a solid player and will continue to be solid. Devin Ross has stone hands and should be moved to the secondary or not relied on. He has to have a perfect pass to make a catch. Bryce Bobo should benefit with more snaps with Spruce gone and I think was underutilized this year. Donovan Lee is dynamic, should get more attention. Lee Walker is fast, but where was he most of the season? Suspended?!

Jay MacIntyre is solid, but they have better players in Walker and Lee that can play his role. Johnny Huntley is HUGE and fast, I expect him to get a ton of snaps and catches next year. That is a great steal for this staff. Rakestraw should redshirt. Justin Jan is intriguing.

TE-Sean Irwin was solid all year. He showed the hands you need in this sort of offense (whatever this sort of offense is). Keeney was not utilized but the few times he was targeted, I liked his ability to get open.

The offensive line is going to be most interesting. I see a lot of young guys starting and one of our most snapped players over last two years may not even start IMO.
OT-Jeromy Irwin has to come back healthy. We were not good at left tackle. Lisella is a solid back-up, but starter? He struggled this year. Interested to see how Middlemiss will do. He was one of first commits of 2015 and comes from great program. Kronshage may start at RT but his playing time seemed to decrease as the year went on.

OG-Callhan, Sutton, Kough, Wiefels or Huckins. Our guards allowed WAY too many QB Sacks. 14 between Kough and Callahan of the 29! Huckins is the best bet. Past that, not sure.

C-I don't expect the 3rd year starting Senior to be one. Alex Kelley was awful. He was masked by two 5th year seniors in 2014. He was not the glue we needed in the middle in 2015. I honestly expect to see Timmy Lynott Jr. starting here next year. If not, he will be one of the guards.

Frankly, the RB log jam of Adkins/Lindsay/Carr/Lee/Gordon just limits the amount of true playmakers we can have on the field at any given time, seeing as the majority of our offensive talent is in that position group. Lee needs to be moved back to the slot permanently, and I think Lindgren should be using more shotgun, 2 RB stuff as well. So many things you can do in both the running game and passing game from that set and it would get Carr and Lindsay/Adkins/Gordon on the field with Lee.

Completely agree. I love moving Lee around like the Packers do Cobb, but they were limiting their offensive playmaking talent having MacIntyre taking snaps over one of those guys. Lee should get about 3-5 carries and 6-8 or so targets a game.

Kelly isn't great but I thought he was good. Needs to fix the shotgun snaps and another year in the weightroom will help him against stronger DL players.

Hope to see Lynott competing at a guard spot. Our only PAC 12 quality guard last year played LT until he got hurt. Would expect to see him back at LT this year. If he isn't healthy we are in trouble. Think Middlemiss may be a year away so Kronsage plays again but should be better. Lisella shouldn't have played this year, needs more physical development but his technique was good, as fast as he has developed physically don't count him out from being a solid player.

I don't think we will get one but a solid JC OT would really help here.

Agree about Lee. Don't see him carrying the load but would love to see him mess with defensive coordinators minds. Will he be a RB or a slot or a WR. Line him up at one then shift him. Run some screens for him from whichever position he lines up and let him create with his quickness. Used correctly he could make it much harder to focus on shutting down a guy like fields or stop our RBs

On what basis do you think Walker is better than JMac?

Not that it really matters but a lot of this seems based on your personal feelings or observations. That's fine and all but given that Walker barely saw the field this year, I'm not sure how you can say he's better than any of the receivers. Especially one who actually saw a fair amount of playing time.

OL will be interesting next year. You add in OT's Miller, Middlemiss, and Haigler. Kaiser could potentially bump down to OG. Lynott will start somewhere.

FIFY... If our highest rated recruit the past few years can't start after a RS year on this OL, he may not have been as good as advertised... or our OL is better than we think.

I think Johnny Huntley will be an instant contributor and play maker. PRich style impact. Just a hunch.

One thing I know for sure is that if our speculation is correct and we end up with a new OC/QB coach and new OL coach... that means that no 2015 starter should feel any job security heading into 2016.

It will be interesting if Sefo is healthy. MM needs a bowl birth next season. Tough to hand over control to a RS Freshman with no game time experience. Maybe a QB by committee the beginning of the season (which I personally despise). I think MM will be in self-preservation bunker mode next year. Might factor heavily into his decision.

Purely my opinion/eye test but felt Lee Walker was more dynamic speed wise than MacIntyre. Walker may have other issues though. Didn't see him even on the sidelines at times. I expect J-Mac to contend for punt returner.

I agree but this isn't a QB that has done anything while at CU besides put up big numbers in a pass heavy offense. If a 2nd year QB is better, you play him for the exact teason you say, to save his job. I think spring will show us a lot. If he isn't the #1 by end of spring, then Sefo probably starts. But Sefo's leash is as short as MacIntyre. If we lose to CSU MacIntyre may be fired that next day. We can't afford to lose to CSU if he wants to keep his job.

Yes Walker is likely faster than Macintyre.

And Devin Ross is faster than Nelson Spruce.

I'm still failing to see where you came up with many of these personal opinions. Not much of it seems to be based on any facts.

I would like to see some sort of plan for frazier and lee.

Oliver looks to start oppisite awuzie, does moeller start at safety?

I think Awuzie stays in the slot. He's too valuable in the run/blitz game to keep in outside coverage, IMO. They'll have Witherspoon, Oliver and Fisher for the two starting CB spots.

You are jumping the gun for my defense post. I felt like Frazier was a decoy or mistake waiting to happen. Teams keyed on him for all but two plays. He was not utilized hard at all.

Oliver does start opposite but Awuzie is the Chris Harris Jr type where he usually is lined up in slot. I think it is Witherspoon on other side so he needs to grow for sure. Moeller was solid but lacks in pass coverage. If he stays the same size he is a good strong safety. If he bulks up, he may be a good replacement to be a sideline to sideline LB.

It is like everyone else, biased opinion. J-Mac is solid but he had a ton of snaps and targets and had 8 total catches. Coin-flip not a big difference.

Ross is stone hands and a stupid comparison to one of the Top Buffs WRs of all-time. Really stupid.

Just giving opinions. They are mine so they are biased. Just like yours. I said good day sir!

When posted in a public forum, your opinions are subject to debate/ridicule. Typically when putting my opinions in an Internet forum, I like to have some way to back those opinions up. But that's just me.

It is a stupid comparison, that's why I made it. You said Walker was better than MacIntyre and backed it up by saying only that he had "more dynamic speed". I'm pointing out that speed =/= good ( hence the Ross/Spruce comparison).

I would be pretty surprised to see someone other than Sefo starting. Is MM really going to bench a senior QB who has been a 3 year starter and only sat this year due to an injury that made him unavailable? I think the wheels would really have to come off early in the season to see someone else starting at QB.

Whether or not this should be the case is a different matter: I liked what I saw from Apsay, but his #s weren't great. I don't know as much about Montez as most here seem too, either.

Please back up the jmac opinion with facts. I'm interested to seeif that holds up

If we have the same OC and offensive staff, what reason is there to believe this offense will be any better next year?

Witherspoon? He would have to improve big time imho.

Sefo is gonna start. He's MM's golden boy
Embree's staff recruited Sefo. He felt he was better than Wood. Montez is Lindgren's golden boy.

Witherspoon? He would have to improve big time imho.
Agreed, but he started most of the season as @TSchekler pointed out.

J-Mac got a ton of snaps. Had 8 catches. Most of his productivity came against a ****ty Nicholls State team. Don't believe he was any better than Lee Walker would have been based off just what I have seen in limited Walker playing time. I may be wrong, but didn't see anything special from JMac.
