Butch Jones calls player a "traitor" for standing up for woman raped by teammates

Please note the player makes this allegation in an affidavit, so Tennessee is either in far more trouble than we all thought or the guy just committed perjury. I don´t think I´d risk getting trialed for perjury just because I think my former coach is an asshole.

That's all fine and dandy, but what did coach Jones have to say about the proficiency of his kicker?

Seriously: How is he (the coach) not on some kind of suspension until the school can investigate these events?

SEC, SEC, SEC

If this is in an affidavit like this, I think it is fair to assume that the University, through the discovery process, has known about all of this for a long, long time. Unless they have concluded that these claims are completely unfounded (and that seems very unlikely, as there seems to be a lot of corroboration to the former player's version of events), to me that means that the administration of the University just . . . doesn't . . . care. If a CU coach did something like this, and CU admin just adopted a laissez-faire attitude, I would be done with CU for a long time, if not forever. I guess we will see where this goes, but all they seem to care about south of Mason-Dixon are the wins.

Food Cart fall hard.

So UT had a presser today with all of the coaches - Butch included - where they all said that everything is OK at UT, and will have another presser tomorrow with the AD? Did they call Betsy Hoffman or Mike Bohn for PR advice?

Not a big fan of suing just for the sake of suing, but I hope Bowles sues the ever living crap out of Jones. Absolutely disgusting.

I commend Drea Bowles for his moral courage in doing what was right. I also commend his parents for raising a fine young man.
I was just about to post this. Kudos to Bowles. Your character is far more important than anything else.

He has been fired per reports on Twitter, after the dirt bag stunt he pulled on the Buffs looks like karma is a bitch ya d-bag

some reports are now saying the reports are premature, seems to be more rumor then fact at this point. probably arguing about compensation package due to morality clauses or something along those lines

If you google "Butch Jones fired", it comes back with a bunch of stuff from October of last year about allegations that he hit a player and has done so previously. I don't remember that at all. The combination of these two situations within months would be more than any coach could survive. Except, well, SEC.

This could be the beginning of a really rough ride for Butch Jones. That is, if the media picks up the ball and runs with it. More likely, they just let it blow over. Because that's how these things work. If the media runs with it, then people get up in arms and call for heads. If the media lets it slide, then nothing will come of it. That is the world we live in these days.
