Before I say anything like "how pathetic", does anybody know if CU has any tickets remaining?

Ok, so I'm looking for duckets to the game and dont wanna end up with the filthy CSU scum in the seats. Is there anywhere where I can tell which seating areas are CU's by chance?

I asked Dave Plati this yesterday. CU is on the West side of the stadium, CSU on the East. CU Students in the SWC....I'm not sure where the lammie students are, probably the NEC.

How is the Platitude bro? Been forever since I've quizzed him about CU trivia (Dude is a phenom!)

The sections that I'm looking at are all endzone duckets. Lord knows, I dont wanna end up sitting with the Sheep's marching band. Ugh.

If you're willing to risk it, I'm sure you could get better tickets at the stadium.

Getting tickets is not going to be an issue (obviously) so I bet you can get some good ones on game day. Just print out a stadium seating map so you know where you'll be. Endzone seating tends to suck IMO, especially if you are low.

Nice pics in your sig! How's the photog business going??

:hijacked: :sorry:

According to Ringo from this morning, CSU has 5,000 left and CU has 4,100 left.

I know that CU gets a larger allotment than does CSU, by about 10,000 seats, so this is actually good news to me.

And I'm probably the only one on this board who doesn't mind the game in Denver. My Dad HATES it. Absolutely hates it. He won't go. I find the atmosphere to be entertaining. I like the fact that for one day, the entire state is focused on one game in the biggest city in the state. I admit that I prefer the games in Boulder, but Denver is still OK by me.

Highflyer, I agree, endzone seating usually sucks baows at In*esco, but I really am dreading the thought of having to sit with the salt of the earth people, you know... Sheep-lovers. I'm sure I'll run across some decent seats as it sounds like the Ewe faithful will not be in full attendance anyway.

As for the game itself, it is technically a home game for the Buffs right? Why the hell did we agree to put this game back in Denver again? Isnt it time to retire this little novelty and get the **** back in Boulder and Ft Collins where it belongs?

BrowneyedBuffGirl, good to hear from you girl. Hope you and the "old man" are doing good and am lookin forward to hanging with ya this fall at a game. Photog biz has been good. Lots of travel and pretty fun all-around. I need to save my pennies for Canon's new 21.7 megapixel full-frame camera though. Ack!

Preaching to the choir brother. I hate it for a litany of reasons, which have been well documented here.

How do you like it for Bronco games? I just feel like that stadium has no presence. No atmosphere. Way different than Mile High. MH might have been a dump, but that place really got rocking.

On this point I will totally agree. I don't like Invesco as a venue for football. Far too antiseptic for my taste. I'm watching football, not a lawn and garden show.

I have heard stadium ushers comment that they wish the Bronco games had the same atmosphere that the CU/CSU game has.

I think it's become better in recent years. It still caters to the wine and cheese crowd but it can get really loud. I'm coming around for bronco games.

It has gotten much better over the last couple years. But for the first 4-5 years, the atmosphere was pretty underwhelming. MH was still ten times better for Broncos games, even though our seats were ten times worse than where they are in Invesco.

So that's the only thing that kept you away?

Pretty much, if it was later in the day I would be there for sure. Cant even really tailgate for a 10 am game. Plus I have a hard time with my work schedule getting adjusted back to being awake during the day, so it would be tough.

Cool. Tailgating is not worth the hassle IMO for this one. We are going to a friends house for breakfast burritos and drinks, then hoping on the light rail. I remember looking around last year, seeing 10,000+ empty seats and thinking to myself how much luster has come off this game.

Yep, I thought the same thing last year. Much of the upper deck was empty, pretty sad compaired to the years that the place was packed.

I think they need to sell the upper deck tix for cheaper. Its dumb to charge the same price for both the best and worst seat in the house. Sell those for $30, why not?

I may still end up grabbing a last minute ticket and going to the game, who knows.

Glad to hear it! The old man is good. We're going to the FSU game in Boulder, if you're going to be there we'll probably see you. Our ****ing dogs ate my digital camera so no photography for me :sad2:

Don't kid yourself. If the game meant something to the people of the state of Colorado it would sell out, easily.

As it is- the game means something to some CU fans, and some CSU fans - but really not anybody else.

There will likely be just as many people in Colorado watching different games on their home televisions as there will be watching the CU/CSU game on TV and/or in person.

I hear that ****. I hate, hate, hate having this game at Invesco.

I'm right there with you guys about this game being in Denver, it sucks. If they're gonna play it then it belongs on the campuses. It's not UT-OU or Florida-Georgia. They're trying to make it that but that just ain't gonna happen.

I know why CSU wants it in Denver and that's because they make more money than if it's in Fort Cows, but I can't for the life of me figure out why CSU fans would rather play one of their home games in Denver instead of at CSU's own stadium. One can only conclude that they're embarrassed about their own stadium.

I think the game means a lot to a lot of people, actually. But take my Father for example - he simply won't go to the game in Denver. The tickets are part of the season ticket package, but he just gives his away. There's a lot of people like that, I suspect. Hell, look in this very thread and you'll see lammiefusker complaining about the kickoff time. There's lots of factors that go into the fact that the game isn't sold out. Most of it, IMO, has to do with apathy on the part of many CU fans who won't make the trip. To wit - CU has a 55,000 seat stadium and receives an allotment of 40,000 (or so) tickets to the game. CU gets fewer seats to this game than it's own stadium holds. You'd figure that most CU fans who go to the games in Boulder would also want to go to the game in Denver, but that's not the case. Lots of folks simply don't like the atmosphere surrounding the game in Denver, and stay at home to watch the game instead. That doesn't necessarily mean that the game is meaningless.

I still like the game in Denver and will continue to go. It's different. I'm fully aware that I'm solidly in the minority on this issue. We have the same discussion every year.
