JUCO QB

After the swing and miss with Davis Webb (saw that one coming) do any of you think that the coaches look to add a JUCO QB late in the mix to add more depth to the position and create more competition for the fall?

A Jordan Gehrke type guy, sure!

Considering the fact that Sefo may not play this year, that leaves us with Gehrke (clearly not the answer) and Montez who has yet to take a snap at the collegiate level. That leaves something to be desired at QB and I was simply wondering if we could potentially find help from elsewhere to strengthen the position.

It's a good thought. Unfortunately, once Webb signed the FAA it tied up the scholarship and CU couldn't keep recruiting for the spot. Now the ship has sailed. We go into this season with Sefo, Gehrke, Montez and Noyer.

Honestly, more concerning to me was losing Sheriron Jones. I don't like having 2 empty QB classes in between Sefo/Gehrke and Montez. 2017 is scary at QB.

The coaches have got to be pretty worried about the 2017 QB situation. Hopefully they can find someone to fill the void. I guess we can always hope Montez progresses quickly and Noyer kicks **s from day 1.

Why? It won't be their problem.
Jim. I'm pissed too, but I'm sure their coaching as if they will be here forever. I hope they have the success this year to ensure they will be here for a long time. I want this staff to succeed, even if I am skeptical.

They've been targeting JC QB Cameron Burston for 2017 for a while, unfortunately does not qualify for 2016

Originally committed to SJSU, so there's an existing relationship. Would be nice to get a vet dual-threat into the rotation. Even if Montez wins the job, I would like a backup who has taken a snap at a level beyond HS.

TCU QB Zach Allen will grad transfer but doubt he wants to go somewhere he won't start after not seeing any time the last 3 years.. Although he did just follow HCMM... hmmmm.

If you are a bench jockey behind a stud QB, then transferring to CU is probably as good an option that is to be found.

He also was behind a much better QB than Sefo.
And...? I never said he was their backup, he may have actually been behind a walk-on.. He wasn't even a part of their Spring competition. He actually played WR in practice quite a lot. Not to say I wouldn't want our coaches to go check him out for depth reasons but can't say I'd believe he was real competition for Sefo. I do love his HS film though, don't know why he never could get the hang of it at the college level.

Well technically so did Boykin haha.

Holy ****, didn't know the first part. Thats a crappy rule.

Don't forget Awini. Not sure he will get many passing reps, but I'll bet he gets a decent amount of snaps.
