How does this work? Are we allowed to contact them, since they are still signed? do they have to reach out to us? not sure of this process.

Wasn't MM crying about other schools trying to poach Webb who didn't even sign an LOI

A bunch of guys in that list who had a CU offer or might have a Chiaverini connection through a TT offer.

Ok. Here's how I look at it:

  • Due to class balance, the following should get the top priority: DT, LB, S.
    • Second priority: TE (not a sure thing on the roster) QB (always, always, always take an upgrade if you can), CB (depth looks scary looking at 2017)
  • I would prioritize kids who had contact with either CU or Chiv, and showed a willingness to look outside TX:
    • According to Rivals, recruits who had contact with CU were:
      • Devin Duverney, WR, 4*, CU Offer (no visit)
      • JP Urquidez, OT, 4*, CU offer (no visit)
      • Kenan Ivy, S, 3*, CU offer (no visit)
      • Kameron Martin, Ath, 4*, CU Offer (no visit)
    • According to Rivals, recruits who may have had contact with Chiv were:
      • Brandon Bowen, DE, 4*, TT offer (no visit)
      • Devin Duverney, WR, 4*, TT offer (no visit)
      • Trendavian Dickson, WR, 4*, TT offer (no visit)
      • Michael Johnson, DE, 3*, TT offer (no visit, lead recruiter Mike Smith)
      • Deonte Williams, OLB, 3*, TT offer (no visit, lead recruiter Trey Haverty)
      • Jared Atkinson, WR, 3*, TT offer (no visit)
      • Denzel Mims, WR, 3*, TT offer (no visit)
      • JP Urquidez, OT, 4*, TT offer (no visit)
      • Kameron Martin, ATH, 4*, TT offer (no visit)
    • According to Rivals, the following were either out of state recruits or Texas-based recruits that took visits outside of Texas and the B12:
      • Brandon Bowen, DE, 4*, Oregon Visit
      • Devin Duverney, WR, 4*, Ohio State Visit
      • In addition, there are two JUCO recruits that were at Coffeyville CC and Garden City CC, both of which I think Leavitt has been to:
        • Jeremy Faulk, 3*, DT (Coffeyville CC)
        • Branton Autry, 4*, OL (Garden City CC)
So, I'm not saying CU shouldn't reach out to some of those other recruits, but I think that guys that are on two of those lists above maybe should be the first calls (Duverney, Martin, Urquidez) and I'd also target Ivy since we have no underclassmen safeties.

If you could throw this into an Excel spreadsheet so we can drill down further, that's be great. Thaaaaanks.

What about kids on the existing roster? Any chance these guys will be granted release like the Penn State kids? Didn't those kids get to transfer without penalty (or something like that)?

That would require an NCAA ruling. I don't think Baylor could unilaterally release them (as they've done with the LOIs) - granted I think if Baylor asked the NCAA to do it, they would, but somehow I don't see their penitence going that far.

I agree. In my opinion, I'm not sure their penitence can go too far, but, I definitely think they will do the bare minimum (given their history). To me, the firing of Briles and rearranging of the deck chairs at the higher levels should be the tip of the iceberg in terms of penitence and subsequent institutional, legal and NCAA ramifications.

This is a totally different situation from Webb's. We're talking about the head coach getting the axe and they are allowing kids out of their LOIs and free to check out other programs. Not a guy committing to a school, making it known, telling the coaches he's coming, and having other coaches keep calling. That's the other end of the spectrum.

Here's how I look at it. Contact them all and see if anyone would consider it.

On another note, why did Baylor do this? If I was a Baylor fan, I'd be pissed as it builds a much deeper hole for the next guy.
