Buff fans aren't gonna like this

But I think NU has an excellent chance of beating USC in two weeks.

As long as we can pressure Booty and keep our running game going, we will have a shot. Then again it's USC and that ****er Pete Carroll always has them ready to play in big games.

They have a chance, but I would still say the odds are 75-25 in USC's favor.

I think thats a fair estimate. They still have some kinks to work out in the passing game and hopefully Keller will feel a little more comfortable by then. I didnt see USC play yesterday though, so I dont know how they looked. Should be interesting.

Pretty much. I am inclined to go with Pete Carroll when it comes to big games, but who knows what can happen on a given Saturday.

sorry fuskers, their 2 speeds ahead of you. a little success against nevada doesn't mean squat. Anyone else I would say sure but SC, it's gonna bve a long day.

Maybe this year they will at least play to win unlike last years pussying out and playing not to get blown out

Excellent chance?!? Hardly. Reserve that word for Ball State.

I'd downgrade nU's chance to probable but unlikely. Nevada is not the yardstick in which Bug Red should be measured. Let's just wait and see if the boys from Lincoln pile up over 600 yards offense against Wake.

USC is going to kick NU in the balls. Since its in Lincoln they only lose by 10-14 but game isn't as close as the score looks. Callahan has proved he can recruit but hasn't proved the can win the big games yet.

Remember how close NU came to beating Texas last year in Lincoln? I just have a funny feeling about this game and think NU will win. I really hope I'm wrong.

i realize that ut beat usc a couple of years ago, but usc is condierablybetter than ut this year and last year. without vince young usc would have beat ut by two scores. my point... not a good measuring stick for where nu stands vs. usc.

I'm sure all the Fusker faithful are excited but this was Nevada, and a bad Nevada team at that.

I'm sure USC won't have much of a problem with NU. It might be tight for a while but eventually USC will pull away from them.

SC toyed with Idaho for nearly 3 quarters before really closing the book on them but their dominance and the game was never in doubt. If SC comes out with that same mentality and gets behind early in stinkholn then the fuskers have a shot. If SC comes out hungry and plays to half of their potential the cornholers will be lucky to lose by 14.

Keller did look better/more comfortable than I expected. By seasons end he will be very dangerous.

I'm going with Skid on this. I want to see how they play at Wake before making predictions of how they will play against USC.

How did Wake do yesterday?

They lost. They also lost their starting QB with a seperated shoulder for atleast 4 weeks. BC was able to pass at will against the Deacons for over 400 yards.

I watched a few snipits of the game and the Deacons appeared to be holding their own but I just had a feeling BC was going to end up on top.

I'm still not convinced Wake will be a good measuring stick for the fuskers - Wake is not the same team they were last year - but they will reveal more than nevada did. I expect you will beat the Deacons next week but how you do it will tell a lot. Will the game be televised?

Yes the Wake NU game is on ESPN at 12:00 and it will be broadcast in HD nationally. It competes with Miami v. Oklahoma at noon on ABC.

Unleash....

You are starting to believe your avatar...

are you silly? Did u watch the same Nebraska v. Nevada game I did?

Now.... never say never cause Appalachian State has taught us that....

But this Nebraska team has alot of flaws.

Please enlighten us to the flaws. I just love hearing Husker analysis from some of the folks around here.

Hmmm interested on your take of "alot of flaws". I think your hatred for the Huskers clouds your vision! Let's see our Defense did not give up 1 TD in the "pistol offense". Our kicker nailed his first college FG for 46 yards. We didn't have 1 over 42 last year. He also booted 6 kick offs for touch backs. Lucky had over 200 yards rushing. Our rookie RB Castille had 80. The "flaws" that I seen this year so far was our safety Asante dropped a sure Int for a TD. Keller had a hard time getting the play called in the huddle due to the staff taking too damn long getting the play in. Nunn dropped way too many passes. These are "quirks" that need to be worked out and I think they will but as far as "alot of flaws", I don't buy it. However...It is Neveda and we will see how it goes down the road.

:yeahthat:

Watched the game off and on last night, and SC really appeared to be approaching it as a scrimmage. Lots of guys got playing time, and I didn't see a whole lot of creativity being unveiled by the Condoms. I don't think Carroll is going to go into Stinkoln with quite the same mindset. I do think UNL can keep it competitive, but a win would absolutely be a big upset.

Did you see that one handed TD catch?! SC has some sick talent.

Come on...let's get some new material...("condoms").

PC put just about every RB on the field...they all did great..even used the FB. I thought Booty looked weak...I'm not a big Booty fan and already he's being pushed for the Heisman...but I don't think he's that calibre.

I was wondering if SC was just taking it easy on Idaho, or if it was the heat or maybe the emotional tribute to their FG kicker that died under mysterious circumstances some months ago got to them, but they looked rather flat.

I hope to see a very different TROJAN team in Lincoln.

Why do you hope your wrong? As much as you hate the Huskers and want them to lose, it'd be huge for the North. Start showing that the North might be narrowing the gap. I really think the North showed more gusto than the south overall. Just compare the match-ups.

There's a great chance the Huskers can beat USC who beat a very inadequate and handicapableIdaho team, and it was only by 31. Nebraska crushed a legitimate D1 football team, (granted, they are rebuilding and without their All-WAC linebacker) by 42. So, who knows....we'll see how we do against Wake, then maybe a clearer picture can be painted.

I think that is always good advice. So much less messy that way.... :smile2:

PigBoy does make a point in his first post here (unlike virtually all other fuskers). A UNL win would look good for the North. But so would a very strong Colorado team. I'll focus on that. Why should I really care how strong the north looks OOC? All the north teams get their shots at the south - if the North is evening things up, it will show then, whether or not UNL beats the jimmy hats... Until then, why would we want UNL to get a win that they could use in recruiting some of the top talent in the country away from SC???

I think SC will beat the hucksters in Lincoln.

Their starting backfield will look a whole lot different than Nevada's does. A whole lot different. I think Booty is a weak link (on board with Gateway) that the black skirts will try to exploit. I have a hard time believing the same team that looked so melancholy last night will show up at Lincoln.

Keller looked very good but how will he do with Taylor Mays prowling around downfield? Lucky was a machine but what about against a DL and LB corp littered with All Americans?

I say great for the B12 north if it was anyone but the hucksters, but I just can't give any quarter to that argument.....no offense to our "esteemed" huckster members

I agree. No one wanted to talk about it last night but but I also know that no one here missed it either.

It sounds like they looked a little better than most people thought. Also, USC didn't look that sharp against Idaho. It could happen. Husker fans though have it in the back of their minds, that Cally could brain fart it in one of the should win games. He is not as bad as Pinkel but its out there.

i would like to see the huskers beat SC, i can't stand how bad the north's rep is. However, SC is far and away the best. I mean not only do you have all the talent you have a smart 5th year senior QB. That's tough to beat. Put it this way, if NU wins there's no more rebuilding in Lincoln their rebuilt. I think SC could have handled Florida last year. By the way did you see how fast Cal looked, my God!
