CU introduces new scheme to give ST holders more flexibility

I think it's a great idea. The season ticket holders don't get their money back, they get seats to a different game. Those new seats, presumably, will be seats that were going to be unsold, donated, or sold at a fire sale price. CU can, however, then try to sell the season tickets to the first game. Worst case scenario is that they lose like $10 or $20 a ticket but still build good will with loyal fans. More likely, it's revenue neutral, and best case, they make a little money on the deal by selling the exchanged tickets for more than the new tickets. If CU starts out 6-0 and tickets for later season games start selling for a premium, this is a potentially bad move. I would love for this to turn out to be a bad move.
 
only problem I see, is anything stopping ticket holders from changing in their Idaho State tickets for UCLA or some other Pac 12 game? If not, I could see Folsom being being really fvcking empty for the ISU game.
 
So is it pretty much the same deal that they've been giving the past few years for the RMS? Swapping those tickets for another game? If so, all you're doing by giving up tickets to Idaho state is going to one less game. Yes, you get to bring another person (or two or three) to UCLA game, but it's not like it really benefits you.

Idaho State time is already set, so not an issue if you refer to the fine print (within one calendar day after game time is announced).

On the flip side, while I commend their marketing efforts and flexibility, it also saddens me that this is even possible, since we haven't been close to max capacity for a home season in a long, long time. It will be a lever that may get some folks back and/or get some new ones in the near term, but (hopefully) it simply won't be an option in a few years and the policy dies a cold hard death in the face of The Rise!
 
This is a good idea. I am much more likely to buy 2 or 3 season tix next year if this program is still in place. This year, I bought 1 for myself and then will buy 1 or 2 single game tix and shoehorn in somewhere when we have game times my wife & son can make.

Like if you thought the same thing. My first reaction was "why the **** are you revealing a surprise scheme!?!?"
