Is a bowl still realistic for this CU team?

I definately think so. Arizona State was our toughest OOC opponent (FSU is looking very beatable). Even then, the Buffs did show glimpses of being a good team last night. We really should have scored two more touchdowns.

Now that we have this game behind us, I think this team will get better each week. This will especially be true after we get Sipili, Hugh, Jackson (maybe), and J-Fly back.

If you remember, K-State was a young team that started pretty slow last year and ended up going to a bowl. So we will see what the Buffs can do as the season progresses. The Buffs hung in there last night, and i'm proud they played so hard in 105 degree heat. I hope Williams runs laps until he pukes.

who knows. i think this week will tell us a lot about this team and it wont necessarily take a win to do it.

FSU still has a but load of talent and depth despite not being a ranked team.

the Buffs are an awfully young team and lacking depth.

fsu is in a different stratosphere from where CU is in terms of current athleticism.

there are reasons for hope--- it is a really late start for fsu and it is in boulder at altitude. and CU is going to be a big dog, so fsu might take the Buffs lightly. and the staff is bringing in a bunch of bluechippers for the game and you know they want to deliver a big upset win so nothing is going to be held back in this one. and maybe we get hugh back this week too.

but, if CU wins, it will be an upset of a team with superior talent.

no matter what happens against fsu, if the Buffs can get by miami of ohio the next week, then i think there is a good chance that CU can find enough wins in conference to be bowl eligible. ku, baylor, and isu look pretty bad. ksu, tech, mizzery, and nu don't look unbeatable but are going to be tough games. ou looks great.

I know Kansas has played cream puffs so far, but they have won their first two games by a combined score of 114-7. That game scares me.

 about this late start for the 'noles. we need to forget about how old we are.

hell, these kids probably dont leave to party till about 11 at night. the altitude could very well factor in though.

I've been thinking the exact same thing whenever anybody mentions the late start. For some reason this FSU team just doesn't look very intimidating. UAB was leading them for 3 quarters yesterday, IN TALLAHASSEE!

Exactly, if if UAB can lead for much that game then we certainly have a realistic shot against them in Boulder.

Yes. We will be a better by the end of the season so winning six is possible. But we are on thin ice.

AAAAHHHH!!!..AAAAHHHHHH!!!! The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Those of you doubters just keep running in a circle, flapping your arms, and shouting the previous line. WE ARE GOING BOWLING!

Somebody refresh my memory - to be bowl eligible does a team with a 12 game schedule need 6 wins or 7?

I think 6 wins is realistic, even with a loss to FSU. If this team ends OOC at 2-2, they would need 4-4 in conference to get there. Give me wins over ISU (apologies to Mrs. HF), Baylor, KU (granted, no guarantee there) and Mizzery. To get to 7 wins, add one over either UNL or at KjSU. If the stars align, I think that's achievable...

Not true. We just a need to start a bowl where the teams pay US to play the game. ND will be there every year.

OH to be mighty ND. I can't stand them. Must be nice to pocket all that cash from bowl games (you don't deserve to be playing in), instead of having to split it with the rest of your conference.

I just hope he catches balls until his hands bleed. P-Will HAS to step up and stop making those mistakes, or him a Sprauge will be riding the pine by the end of the season, and we will have a all freshman WR crew.

Last weeks lack of offense makes me nervous, but I'm still hanging in with my notion of seven wins this season.

I'm just a fool for the Buffs

You can get into a bowl game with 6 but I believe the Buffs will need seven in order to get there.

While I think we can grab six or seven. I would also be happy with 4 or 5. We must show that we have improved over last year and I like our chances. FSU is beatable and may be overlooking the Buffs.

IMO, Miami (OH), Baylor, KU and ISU are games the Buffs should win. With the Goats in the bag already, CU need one, preferably two, more to get a bowl bid. Who are they? Tech and KSU are the two best candidates. FSU is a longshot and OU even longer. Mizzou and Nebraska are going to be tough games. CU will have to play very well against either of those opponents to pull off a W. That being said, I think 7 wins is possible, six is probable.

No, we can get to a bowl with 6. The only teams that don't get to bowls with six wins in divisions like the Big 12 are ones that play pathetic weak schedules. Like Kansas last year for example.

As much as I hate Oklahoma they are going to whip us if they play like they have been. Anything is possible in football but that will be our toughest game IMO. It's in our house and that will give us a little advantage but not much.

That's 2 wins in the non-conference schedule, so we need to win 5 conference games:

Baylor
ISU
KU

Then 2 of these 4:
Mizzou
KSU
TT
corn

Maybe a tad optimistic but certainly possible.

ISU and Baylor are 0-2, KU is 2-0 but has been playing the deaf and blind leauge schools.

MU is 2-0 as is the Corn and TT. KSU is 1-1

Hey this is way off topic and I'm rather new here but what do the stars on the side there represent and what about the little purple thing too or most of you seem to have a lot of green ones and some people have red ones?

I wonder though does it do your program any good to go to the "Oil Filter Bowl" or some other fourth rate bowl. The kids gotta know its a bit of a spoof - playing Dec. 14 in a game only the homers care about - no national respect. But maybe a bowl game is a bowl game - even if the trophy comes from the Dollar Store.

A bowl game regardless of how lame it may be gives a huge boost to a program and gives some bragging rights, even if you lose.

While most of us agree that going 6-6 and becoming bowl eligible will be tough, I think the overall direction and sentiment around the program is a blessing. We sold out our allotment of tix for the ASU game. The scene on the flight going to Phoenix on friday afternoon was great. A hyped up excited flight with a bunch of CU fans, I mean when was the last time that happened? The friday night parades on Pearl are great, and Saturday night should be a great atmosphere. Even if we don't become bowl eligible, Bohn and Hawkins are moving us in the right direction. It will come sooner rather then later.

The direction of this team is definately good. I am a huge BSU fan (I'm from Idaho) and Hawk not only teaches football but he is also VERY GOOD at teaching a mentality that most coaches don't. He is a very inspiring person to listen to. All of his players said that.

Bowl game will be hard but very attainable.
