"94"

Always BUFF

I post stupid ****
I binged the "94" season a week ago..a couple of observations and a "who could've" came to mind. Observations: 1) Lady luck abandoned shortly after that season. 2) The coaching tree died. The who could've: With that team who besides Salaam could've hit 2,000 or came close? Couple of names came to mind Charles & Purify.

Lady Luck is going to make a big return with a Miracle in Michigan Part Deux, and Chris Brown was unstoppable in 2001, so him.

Brown to me was a long striding grinder after 30-40 yds he could be caught. Salaam had the combination of muscle, stamina and speed netting him the extra YPC, in the UT game by the 4th qt he still had gas in the tank and Troutman benefited.

Brown was on pace to get 2000 yards when he got hurt in 2002 averaging 6.3 yards per attempt. I think your analysis of Brown is way off base...he had 6 TDs in 2002 of over 50 yards. Brown was faster than Purify.

BNG I really looked at Brown and for nothing else we all know Chris as being the one that put nu in the ground. Pick any game in 94 where you believe Chris could've accumulated more yardage overall than Salaam and let's debate. Other than the Wisconsin & K-State game I don't see an obvious.
We're stuck waiting for 9/2 and I'm starving

Nothing like changing the subject....The questions was NOT if Chris Brown was a better RB than Salaam...but who else could of reached 2000 yards on the "94" team. You thought maybe Purify or Charles but discounted Chris Brown. I pointed out that Chris Brown was on track for 2000 yards in 2002 and with the better team in 94 should of been able to do it.

There is medication out there to help you focus and stay on topic.

No slapping intended...with Kordell at QB with the option involved Chris never struck me as a get to the edge type of back, more of a North/South runner. Hence I thought of the two I mentioned, not to discount Chris he may very well have got to 2000 with that line in front of him.

Brown had a lot of long TD runs where he didn't get caught. He would have been our second 2K rusher had he not gotten hurt in '02

Rodney speedy Stewart ! Really probably not . . . But he is seriously one of my favorite buffs ever so I'm going to go way out on a limb for his make believe 94 season

Two very different offenses. If I remember correctly the '94 team used a one back set mostly, while Chris Brown not only had a punishing O-Line in front of him but also had Brandon Drumm clearing the way. Both Salaam and Brown were great and both would have excelled in either offense though.

Rodney always got caught by turf monster at about 15 yards. It wouldn't have mattered if he was on the 94 team or not.
