Fun trip. Yes, FC did kick my ass in golf. No excuses. I just suck. :sad1:

Weird moment came when FC's group and us were tailgating and then, seemingly out of nowhere, 66 shows up. We hadn't planned it or anything, he just managed to park right next to us. I took it as an omen. I was wrong.

As has been mentioned, it was hotter then hell down there. No breeze whatsoever. Damn. :wow:

This was my first trip to Phoenix. It's a nice city. Easy to get around. Lots and lots of development in the area, which seems strange to me given the mortgage market collapse taking place right now. I hope they're able to sell all that new housing.

The ASU fans were cordial and engaging. A far cry from the miscreants and felons we ran into in Miami. Except for the game itself, which was a total meltdown, the trip was enjoyable. Even the golf.

CU did have a sizeable contingent at the game. I don't know what the numbers were, but there were three or four "pockets" of CU fans throughout the stadium. I'd put a guess at around 7,000.

I found many of the ASU fans to be assholes-

several of them tailgating on 5 story 'open air' parking garages were throwing trash down at CU fans-
they booed CU's band- very weak ....
also had an ass poke my sister as we were walking to her car - he was probably 50 and made a point to say "too bad ASU ruined your trip"
thought that was poor sportsmanship-

Aren't ASU fans the ones that taunted Steve Kerr right after his father was murdered?

we went to taliesin west saturday morning which was pretty cool. two interesting things among many that i learned on the tour was that Phoenix had 15,000 people when Frank Lloyd Wright bought the property (cannot remember when exactly, around 1930-1940) and 400 people move to phoenix every day. that is unbelievable growth, especially for a place so hot.

I could live in Phoenix ...............

between October & early May :wink2:

:yeahthat:

Although I'm not a big fan of the desert in general. If I'm going to be someplace where it gets hot, I'd prefer it to be near an ocean. I did enjoy the town, though. Reminds me a lot of Denver in many ways.

Hey Sacky

saw a post on nutbuffs by buffaz. wonder if it is the same one.

:wow:

I hope so, but then I wonder why he hasn't been around here in a while. Maybe Jens pissed him off one to many times.

Sackman, I am waiting.

I seem to remember you and he getting into it on a couple things, but I can't remember exactly what they were. I know he's a serious Frankophile, and that may have played into it. Maybe I'm thinking of somebody else. I'm not trying to stir the pot.

whats him liking the French have to do with Jens I am French by birth and British by blood, I like Jens just fine.

OK, this is all from way back memory, so I may be totally wrong and if so I apologize. I seem to recall Jens and AZ getting into it on some kind of French/German issue. What that issue was I don't know. It might not have even been a real issue but one of those stupid threads we all do from time to time where nobody is being serious, but it all seems serious enough on the surface.

It was an innocent comment not made to stir things up and all of the sudden things are stirred up.

Peace, love and Franco-Prussian relations all around.

So...you are saying that you have a snobby attitude, surrender quite often, and have really bad teeth then?? I thought you were a Buff fan, not a fusker inbread fan!?!

(Wait, he was born into these things, they were not a choice, so is this offensive??:smile2:)
