After a long summer, we finally have REAL CU sports starting off, as the soccer team opens up the 2016/17 competitive year for the Buffs' sport teams!

Go take it to the Falcons- do what you can to set the tone for both your's and all the Buff teams' seasons!

Bummer. Looks like no live video after all. (Per livestats, no score early on (at the 6 minute mark).)

Edit- don't know how often live stats are getting updated, so don't know how current results are going to be tonight. Twitter may be the best source for updates.

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Buffs!
Sarah Kinzner with, per GameTracker, only 3 seconds left in the 1st half. Later, it adds goal was "FROM 10 YDS STRAIGHT OUT"

1-0 CU

Edit-

Halftime.

Buffs leading in shots (7 vs. 2) and shots on goals (SOG, 4 vs. 1), with Danica Evans providing 3 of the 4 SOG for the Buffs.

Credit to Stephanie Zuniga, who just came in for the last 4 minutes of play in the half, with the assist on the Kinzner goal.

From GameTracker, looks like there's a goalie switch for the Buffs as they continue their competition at that position. 2nd half starters-

"
45:00 FOR COLO: #3 BRUDER, EMILY, #20 SHYMKA, CAMILLA, #6 STANTON, MORGAN, #18 KRAUS, MIKAELA, #22 KORNIECK, TAYLOR, #8 MASSEY, MEGAN, #2 OREJEL, JOSS, #16 GREENING, ERIN, #1 WATSON, SCOUT, #17 HOGG, KAHLIA, #11 VIDGER, ALEX.
"

2nd half sounds like a big CU advantage. They were playing into a 20 mph wind in the 1st half.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Alex Vidger credited- 2-0 Buffs

Edit- Goal at the 78:57 mark. Per Gametracker- "DEFLECTION INSIDE THE BOX". Looks like it was probably off a corner kick, since it's showing 1 10 seconds earlier (taken by Kahlia Hogg).

Good win to kick things off!

Yep. Awesome.

Buffs end up with BIG advantages in shots (16 to 4) and shots on goals (10 to 3). Be interesting to see if there are a lot of the same starters on Sunday's CSU match, as some of the players (especially on the back line) played nearly all if not the whole match, in what sounds like was uncomfortable weather at 7,300 ft..

Anyway, Go Buffs!!!
