First games are a B****, and why I hate the idea of playing CSU the first week (even though I think we roll this year). Teams are MUCH more prone to making mental mistakes, which can be a great equalizer. With this in mind, I look to the old fart out east that almost always has his teams playing disciplined football, against a very good team that can be prone to playing a little sloppy the first few weeks of the season.

Pac loses all respect for year if Stanford goes down, with likely ugly USC loss and possibly UCLA.

Maybe for a few weeks, because the Furd is the only media darling of the PAC 12 right now. We'll get plenty of respect after CU runs the table ;-)

The PAC could really use some big wins this weekend. ESPN has been selling that "the PAC will be the team left out of the playoffs" narrative hard the last couple of weeks.

We need Stanford to go undefeated. Losing the first game last year prevented them/Pac 12 from being in the Final 4. I think Stanford is the Pac 12's best chance this year, so I don't want to see them go down.
