Im sure yall know what im referring to. To me, he should get no less than 2 games. Hes damn lucky he didnt hurt that Wiscy kid.

It was a great job of restraint.

Just playing devil's advocate, did Boutte know the kid was down?

I suppose there's an infinitely small chance he didn't know. Looking at the replay, there seemed to be a lot of time to assess the situation and the result of the play before he became a moron.

For anyone who's had their head buried in the sand:

He knew exactly what was happening.

He was simply an out of control, classless thug. As soon as he made the hit he headed for the sideline looking for flags.

The Wiscy guys showed a lot of class in not responding, little easier knowing they had just sealed the kind of win that can make a season.

Disagree with @BuffLuKe though. I don't think two games is near enough. This is a close to 300lb athlete looking to injure a defenseless and unsuspecting opponent. SEC and LSU don't have enough class to do this but I would put him out for the season.

This flagrant LSU cheap hit and that USC crotch-stomp cheapens the game.

I wouldn't mind if the NCAA sent a message to nip these flagrant personal fouls in the bud.

Give the coach the option of either pulling the player's scholly or subtracting an available scholly from the next recruiting class.

This would make sense. Huge player safety issue, had the cheap shot been at a different angle he could have ended the guys career.

Might even in addition to the scholly you mentioned give the coach a warning that the second incident in a given time results in the coach suspended without pay and without contact with players for a week or more.

Seems a little excessive. I don't think any coach teaches or approves of the actions of those two players. How often do these events occur to warrant that kind of punishment?

That one was really blatant and should be handled harshly. Certainly these aren't being endorsed or supported in any way by the coach but if this becomes a trend, something drastic will have to be done to mitigate this kind of behavior.

The game is facing fan driven scrutiny, both on (this incident as an example) and off (**** bailer, concussion debate) the field. Any additional unnecessary contact needs to be removed from the game. In this case, the player needs to be removed to ensure the integrity of the game. I agree with a statement penalty response.

Half-game suspension vs Utah State. Ridiculous.

I meant 2 games minimum. Watching Espn this morning, few on there think he should get the season, I just doubt fhatll happen.

You see two sides of sportsmanship in a single incident. You have the asshole that stomps on the groin at the same time the USC ball carrier wanting to help up the bama player.

Of course, the ball carrier was probably going to shove his knee into the bama players groin upon having him up off the ground.

Crotch stomper gets 1/2 game due to 2nd quarter flagrant. He should get another game or 2 on top.

LSU dished out a 1 game suspension, which the SEC ate up and said they would do no more. I don't remember if he got ejected or not, but if he did, there was already a 1/2 game for him, as well, thus LSU added an entire 1/2 suspension against the powerhouse that is Jacksonville ST

It isn't crystal clear, but it sure looks like he led with his helmet. That would be assault

An other way of looking at this situation is to consider how many millions of people witnessed this ugly behavior on live TV?
How many millions more don't watch football or are turned off by football players who don't face consequences for violent tendencies or serious lapses in judgement?
If the crotch stomp or LSU cheap shot happened in your workplace, what would your employer do?

Punk ass and a cheap shot. Reminds me of the oregon puke that sucker punched the boise st lineman

He was suspended for most of the season by Chip Kelley. He made it back for the last regular season game and the bowl game.

You know things are bad when you're looking back at Chip Kelley's Oregon as an example of a disciplined, ethical program.
I don't particularly like Chip Kelly (sorry for misspelling it before) but I think he managed discipline pretty well at Oregon. Altman is another story.

I strongly disagree. I don't remember consequences for:
1. "I already smoked it all."
2. 110 in a car rented by a faculty member (because the player's license had been suspended).
3. A series of offensive racist tweets from players.

Those are just off the top of my head. I remember my impression that his tenure as Oregon's coach was marred by a significant lack of discipline and accountability.

I know you're in the area. You can correct me if my impression was incorrect.

My memory too, that program was free wheeling for a while.

The first two on your list are the same incident. The player involved, Cliff Harris, was suspended and then kicked off the team when he couldn't get his life in line. Darron Thomas was in the car and Kelly chose not to discipline him for being a passenger.

I'm not sure about the racist tweets since I don't remember that incident.

Additionally, before the 2010 season, Kelly suspended the starting QB (Masoli) and then kicked him off the team. All in all, I'd say Kelly handed out some pretty serious consequences for players who stepped out of line although it didn't hurt that he had really solid players to replace them with.
