What effect will 110,000 people have on hurry up no huddle offense

I can imagine that as we push the hurry-up offense, we will be using more audibles. This has to be an issue playing in a huge stadium.

I've never been there, but have heard it is not an especially loud stadium. I actually expect next week at Autzen to be louder.

When I went to several games there in the 70s and 80s, because it's a bowl with a rather gentle slope, it did seem that the crowd noise was largely dissipated so that a crowd of 100,000+ didn't seem to provide that much of a boost. However, since they added luxury boxes on both sides of the stadium in the past few years (kind of like what we have on the east side of Folsom now ... only much larger) my understanding is that the noise is now much more contained. I imagine we shall see/hear today if that's true or not.

Don't we signal plays in now?
That's what Mac said in an interview. He said noise shouldn't bother them because they use hand signals. I'm not sure how that works for linemen. Maybe their assignments don't change regardless.

Student section will be raucous, but most of the stadium will be full of nice old people who yell at anyone who tries to stand in front of them to sit down. It is a grand stadium, but not the least bit intimidating.

Well, the linemen have to get the call somehow, so they're either staying in their stance and waiting for Sefo to call it out, or they are standing up looking for signals as well. I assume the high tempo stuff has them all get the signals.

We consider everything in front of us as our lawn.

And as something to poop on!!

Heard the same as with ND's stadium. They aren't vertical and can't trap in the sound. It'll be loud, but not as much as you would expect.

Interesting trivia fact ... ND's stadium was actually designed to imitate UM's. Same quasi-rectangular shape, gentle slope, etc.

Also ... it was actually UM's team that went down to South Bend to teach them the rules of this new game called football in the 1890s. True fact.
