Watched the game last night, finished up about midnight.

There have been arguments around here about how bad we were when M2 took over. I tend to agree with @sackman that we were about as bad as at team could get at the BCS level, maybe the worst BCS team in the nation.

In the Hawkins era we had a couple big wins including beating Oklahoma and Georgia but those were games when we played way over our heads and those teams had bad days.

Yesterday wasn't one of those. It wasn't a case of an inferior team pulling out a close win. We were the best team on the field. If anything Oregon made it closer than it should have been.

Oregon was better than us at a lot of positions but we were better than they were at a lot as well, overall we were the better team. How long has it been since we could say that coming off a game against a respected P5 opponent?

Our WRs were better than their DBs, Our DBs were better than their WRs. Our OL won the majority of the plays and their OL had nightmares with our DL. Tupou was simply a beast. He didn't have a lot of tackles but he pushed their center where ever and when ever he wanted to, when he wanted a particular space he occupied it and they couldn't move him.

We should be able to dominate MWC teams and we did, we were a much better team to the point that CSU's motivation didn't factor. Idaho State turned out to be what it should have.

Michigan is one of the best teams in the country and while they are better than us at most positions we had the advantage at some and if Sefo hadn't got hurt we had a fair shot to win in their place and it wouldn't have been because they gave the game away.

I don't think I'd like to be Oregon State next week. They are getting a Buff squad that isn't going to look for ways to lose. They are going to see a CU team that has some real athletes and coaches who can get the most out of them.

We won't go undefeated the rest of the season, we aren't close to that good yet but anyone who is expecting to see poor, undermanned, struggling Colorado the rest of this year is in for a rude surprise.

Speaking of things that have changed, the Oregon victory has caused the ESPN Matchup Predictor to whipsaw.

Here's the latest projections:
OSU - 90.5% Buffs
USC - 61.5% Condoms
ASU - 70.0% Buffs
Stan - 76.8% Trees
UCLA - 51.3% BUFFS
Ariz - 61.7% BUFFS
WSU - 68.4% BUFFS
Utah - 67.8% BUFFS

That's 9-3 boys! I love it when a plan comes together.

9-3 damn, that's crazy. Who slipped the Koolaid to ESPN. Love it to be true

ESPN knows that when a team that won only a few last year goes to a team that becomes a world beater or near wold beater is good for their ratings. People like to sit on the band wagon. They like the underdog story and thats what CU is.

If this is CU's Cinderella season, right now we're at the part in the story before she meets the prince. The ugly step-sisters are jealous because we're a beautiful low-life. The poll stepmom needs to see CU mop up the floor with OSU and a SoCal rival.

Beat USC and the fairy godmother shows up.

Beat Stanford and the Poll Prince gets a woody.

ESPN guys have us going to either the "Heart of Dallas Bowl" playing Kansas State, or the Holiday Bowl playing Iowa. Just making moves!

I'll wager Oregon is a lot better than they appear. Some are saying we won because they're down. They are to an extent but I'll bet they will be tough to beat down the stretch. They put over 500 on us.

From a talent standpoint, I agree. They still have plenty of dudes that can play, but I do think they are physically soft on defense and not very well coached. I also think they are fragile from a mental perspective and we may have shattered any hope they had remaining.

Soft on D for sure.

Let's get to 4-1.

I know fans are allowed to look ahead, but my mindset remains "1-0 every week". Even as a fan, I'm not ready to take anything for granted or make assumptions.

I'm with ya, @Buffnik - It's still fun to see the Buffs turning the prognosticators on their heads. Even the computers are drinking the KoolAid!

Now back to business.

It is tough because I am sitting here seeing all the potential wins on our schedule now and I am forcing myself to not look ahead and get my hopes up to high. This team is good. Potentially really good. Just seen too many bad things happen. Taking it one week at a time.

But damn... 9-3. I don't even know if I could put into words how huge that would be...

Players and coaches have this exact mentality.

I would definitely be at the Holiday Bowl. If we fall short of the Rose Bowl, that would be a great trip.

Some of their players were thinner and clearly underclassman. They have talent but their young in some places. Their defense is a cycle or two rebuild.
